The John Coldman Charitable Trust is govemed by Trust Deed dated 16th October 1995,
registered with the Charty Cornmission for England and Wales on 26th October 1995 under
registration number 1050110. The principal address for the charty is Lockskinners
Farmhouse, Lockskinners, Chiddingstone, Edenbridge, KENT, TN8 7NA.
Financial records are kept using the simpl8 'receipts and payments, method and are
independently examined by Mrs C F Ellinson, Rohan, 1 Spile Bank, Hilders Lane,
Edenbridge, Kent, TN8 6LQ. Payroll services are provided by Cadence Accounting, Station
Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 OQE, insurance ServI￿S by Howe Maxted Group Ltd, 17
Hatherley Road. Sidcup, Kent, DA14 4BP, with banking services provided by CAF Bank, 25
Kings Hill Avenue, Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, ME19 4JQ and Nat West Bank, 250
Bishopsgate, London, EC2M 4AA.

Trustees that served during the period were David John Coldman, OBE and Nicola Anne
Coldman. The authority of appointing new Trustees is vested in the Settlor, David John
Coldman, OBE.
Objects and Oporatlons
Having regard to the Charty Commission's guidance on public benefit, the objects of The
John Coldman Charitable Trust are to pay, apply or appropriate the income and the whole or
any part of capital of the Trust Fund for such purposes or objects which are from time to tima
recognised as exclusively charitable, according to the law of England and Wales, as the
Trustees in their absolute discretion may think fiL
To this end, the Trustees make donations to charitabl8 organisations providing essential
funding to enable them to carry on their work. The Trust also operates Holcot as a self-
catering group holiday centre specfficalty for groups of disabled andlor otherwise
disadvantaged children and young persons, enabling them to spend time working and playing
together in a countryside setting and at minimal cost.
Achievement and Perforniance
During the accounting period donations We￿ made as follows:
Citizens Advice, Edenbridge & Westerham, £15k enabling them to conth.nue operating at their
current level.

Holcot Charrtable Trust, £2.5k enabling them to manage a small emergency hardship fund to
support local disadvantsged families living in deep povety.
Financial
The Trustees do not currently distribute all the resources in the Trust but utilise their resources
as and when appropriate. The Trustees consider the level of cash res8rv@s to be sufficient
given current commitments.
Grant-makin
Poli
To support local and other projects with specific consideration being given to projects
involving young people, the under-prNileged and communities in need, as well as medical
research and needs (both in the United Kingdom and overseas). The Trustees do not apply
geographical or financial restrictions on who might benefrt.
Risk Mana
ement
The Trustees maintain various insuran￿5 arKI rely on the underwriting of Trust assets and
activitias from othar resources in the Trust to mth.gate potential risks. This policy is reviewed
on an annual basis.
Investment Polic
The assets controlled by the Trustees comprise cash held at bank, a CAF cash account and
the freehold propety known as Holcot, 34 Spile Bank, Hilders Lane, Edenbridge, KENT, TN8
6LQ. Advice is obtained from time to time, as and when necessary, on the assets from
Managers and other appropriate professionals.
The Trustees adopt a low-risk investment strategy and income is accumulated until used for
reinvestment, distribution, or other purposes. The Trustees maintain liquidity to enable them
to make distributions in accordance with their grant-making Policy. The Trustees also need
to retain liquidity to meet anticipated shortfall between income received and liabilities incurred
in relation to the running of Holcot.
There are no geographical or ethical investment constraints that fetter the Trustees,
Invastment Policy.

As part of a review of insurances, a professional re-evaluation was undertaken of Holcot in
October 2022 at which time the total rebuild cost was assessed to be £1,677,078.
