Having regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit
the objects of the John Coldman Charitable Trust are to pay apply or
appropriate the income and the whole or a part or parts of the capital for
such purposes or objeds which are frorn time to time recognised as
charitable according to the law of England and Wales.

To this end. in ts year ended 31a March 2021. the Trustees have made
donations to educational and chantable organisations, in eaGh case
providing core funding to enable thern to continue their work.
In addrtion, the Holcot Residential Centre operates as a hostel, holiday
ntre and communty ￿ntre for the use of young people and others.
This gives groups of young people. quite often from disadvantaged
backgrounds, the opportunity to Spend time working and playing together
in a countysKle environment and at minimal cost.

The Trustees maintain various insurance covers and rely on the
Unde￿illng of trust assets and activities from other resources in tho
Trust to miligate potential risks. This policy is ￿viewed on an annual
basis.
Investment Polic
The assets controlled by the Trustees comprise cash held at Bank and
CAF cash ac¢ounts and the freehold propety known as the Holcot
Residential Centre. AdvKe Is obt&ned from time to time as and when
nec8ssary on the assets from Manag8rs and other appropriale
professionaL8.

Income is accumulated until used for reinvestrnent, distribution, or olher
purposes. The Trustees maintain tsquKJity to enable them to make
distributs'ons in accordance wtih t￿e1r Grant-making policy.
Trkq Trustees also need to retain ￿juKlIty to meet any shortfall between
income received and liabilities inf)Jrred in relation to the running of the
Holcot Residential Centre.
There are no geographical or ethical investment ￿n$traIntS that felter the
Trustees, investment policy.
Asset revaluation
The freehold propety has been included at original cost in the Statement
of assets and liats'litses. The actual market value of the freehold property
is £1,559,613 The freehold property has previously been held at
depreciated value.
Related
transactions
During the year the Trust received donations of £130,000 from John
Coldman who is a trustee of the tharity.
During the year the Trust made a grant of £15,00012020.' £15,000) to
Citizens Advice. Edenbn'dge and Westerham. Graham Coldman was

Restatement of 2020 ac¢ounts
In the course of my examination of the accounting records of Ihe Gharity, il was
noted that as a result of the change in basis of prepaiation from FRS 102
laccounts under the Charity SORP 201910 a CC16a, the 2020 accounts
