|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Wokingham u3a, established in 1990, is one<br>of the largest u3a organisations<br>nationally.<br>Our membership continues to increase and<br>the trustees are delighted that membership<br>stood at 2640 on 31 December 2024.<br>Activity groups number around 190.<br>Activities covered by groups include<br>education, arts & culture, research,<br>sport/recreation, and support for single<br>members.<br>The trustees would like to thank the<br>excellent group convenors for their<br>contribution to the success of our u3a.<br>Due to our healthy financial position,<br>membership subscriptions for existing<br>members were waived for 2024. The cost for<br>new members joining during the year<br>remained at £8.00 per annum.|



## **Financial Review**

**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of **basis of report** the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. **Independent examiner's** I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have **statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
