Structure, Governance and Management

Objectives and Activities
The Capital and Income of the Benevolent Fund is to be applied for the relief of the poor and needy or such other charitable purpose as the Club shall in duly constituted meeting from time to time direct. The main activity is to raise funds which are applied for charitable purposes towards local and Rotary Charities.
Achievements and Performance
During the year the Club raised a total of £29,503 including £4,780 restricted for the use of Rotary Foundation charitable fund. Costs of £5,222 were incurred including £986 in respect of the restricted fund raising. Donations of £21,585 including £3,500 to the Rotary Foundation were made. In addition to our usual fund-raising events, this year saw the inaugural Lincolnshire Wolds Vintage Hill Climb and this was the main income of the year. In addition to the donation to Rotary Foundation, the other donations are listed in the accounts.

The Trustees have reviewed the Public Benefit Guidance issued by the Charity Commission and confirm that they have complied therewith in exercising their powers and duties during the year.
Financial Review – Reserves
The Trustees’ policy regarding reserves is to retain unallocated general funds of at least £2,000 to meet ongoing commitments and any emergency donation requests.
On 30[th] June 2023 unallocated General Funds of £9,556 were held. In addition. Funds relating to ongoing projects or allocated but not made i.e. Designated totalling £880 were held. Also, £134 remained in the Restricted Foundation Fund.
