Association for the l January 2021 to 31 March 2022. The Annual report serves the purposes of borh a Trustees. report
and a directors, report uNder company1aw. The Trustees confirm that the Annual report and financial statements of the
thariiable company comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of ihe charitable company's
governing document and the provisions of the Statemeni of Retommended Prattice ISORPI applicable to charities
pieparing their atcounts irn accordarbce with the Financial Reptsrtirtg Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS1021 lettective l January 20191.
Sinee the Charity qualifies as small under sertion 382 of the Compan￿5 Art 20C6, the Strategic report reiuired ol medium
and large £ompantes under the Companies Au 2c¥J6 Istrategic Report and Director5, Reportl Regulations 2013 ha5 been

The main artivities of the charity are to pro￿￿e. maintain and run the Community and Church Centre in Church
Langley in accordance with the objects set out in ihe MemoranL1um of Association éated 2 March 1995 as amended
l May 2003. In settin8 objeftives and planning for attivities, the Trustees have given due considerariofi to general
8uidan£e published by the Charity Comm¢ssi¢4) relaiin8 to public benefit and in particular to its supplementary public
benefit guidante.
In setting objettive5 and planning for activities, the Trusiees have 8Nen due consideration to general guidance published

During the year the charity corstinued lo maintain the Centre to an appropriate standard for lettin8. Av3ilable time slots
are actively marketed. Following the impact of the Covid19 pandemic, lettin8s are one again starting to increase.

The Charity has undertaken small fund iaising activibes durin8 the year. The majority of its income is 8enerated from hall

After making appropriate enquiries. the Trustees have a reasonable expectarion that the Charity has adequate resources
to continue in Operatio￿￿1 existence for the foreseeable future. FOT thi5 reason. they continue to adopt the goin8 concern
basis in preparin8 the financial siatements. Fvrther details re8ardin8 the adoption of the 80in8 concern basis can be
fouThd in the accouniin8 policies.

The Trustees have determined to keep available sufficient funds to enable the Charity to continue its activities in the
short term.

The Trustees attempt to balance the cash income and expenditure. The deficit for the year and the preceding year a¥ise
because ol a provision for depreciation.
d. Principal risks and uncertainiies
The Trvstee5 have reviewed th? principal risks and uncertainties. In the main these derive from a circumstance
where rhe centre is not available to let. Appropriate insurance has been put in place to miligate the risk.

b. Methods of appolntment or *leclivn of Trustee5
The managemernt ol the company is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elerted and co-opted under the term5 of
the Articles ol Association. Two board members afe nominated by two of the churche5 (Church ol England and United
Relorrn Church/Methodist Church) under the terms of the Articles of Association. A further four Members are elected in
accordance with those Artitles for a period not exceeding 4 years. Up to 3 further persons may be co-opted..
t. Organi5ational 5trurture and declsion-maklng policies
The Charity is managed by the Trustees who as a Board ol Mana8ernent meet monthly. The Centre Manager is
responsible for the day to day running of the Centre and reports to ihe Boacd ol Management at its monthly rneetirtg.

As the Trustees of the Charity land its directors for the purposes of company lawl you are responsible for the preparation

2.1 Basis of preparaiion of fin￿(la1 statements
The financial statements have beern prepared in accor¢ance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 Accounting
and Reportin8 by Charities.. Statement of Recomrnended Practice applicable to charities preparin8 their
accounts in accorlance with the Financial Reportin8 St3Ddard applicable in the UK and Republic of Irelan
IFR5 1021 leffettive l Jèrtuary 20151, the Finantial Reportin8 5tèndard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Companies Aci 2C(J6.
Church Langley Community Association meets the definition ol a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets
and liabilities are initially reco8nised at historKal cost or tran53Ction value unless otherwise st?ted in the
relevant accovntin8 policy.
2.2 Incorne
All income is reco8nised once the Charity has entitlement to the income. it is probable ihai the income will
be received and the amount of intome receivable can be measured ￿liably_
2.3 Expertdiiure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a leeal or construrtive obligation to transfer econ¢)mic benefit to a
third party, if is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be requiTed In settlement and the amounr
of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified by artivity. The ttssts of each activify are
made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs. including support Costs involved in undertaking each
attivity. Direct C05t5 attributable to a single activity are allocated directly ro that activity. Shared costs which
contribuie to more than one activity and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are
apporrioned between those athwties on a basi5 consistent with the use ol resources. Central siaff cost5 are
allocated on the basis of time spent. and depreciation charges allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
Expenditure on charitable acrivities is incurred on direcrly undertakin8 the acrivities which further the
Charity's objectives, 35 well as any èssociaied support costs.
All expentliture is inclusive of brrecoverable VAT.
2.4 Tan8ible fixed assets and deprtciation
Tangible fixetl assets cosiing £1[￿ or more are capitalised and recognised when futtsre economic benefits
are probable and the cost or value of the asset can be measured ieliably.
Tangible fixed assets are initially recognised at cost. After reco8nirion, under the cost model, tangible fixed
asseis are measured at cosr less acrumulateé depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. All c05t5
incurred to bring a tangible fixed asset into its intended workin8 condition should be included in the
Measu￿Ment ol cost.

Liabilities are recognised when there is an obligation at the Balance sheet date as a result of a p35t event. it is
probable that a transfer of economic benefit will be required in settlement. and the amount of the
settlement can be estimated reliably.
Liabilities are recognised èr the amount that the Charity ènticipates it will pay to settle rhe debt or the
amouni it has receivetl as 3dvanipd payments for the 8ODd5 OT 5ervice5 It must provide.
Provi5ion5 are measured at the best esiimaie of the amounts required to settle rhe obligation. Where the
eflect of the time value of money 15 material, the provision is b35ed on the present value of those amounts,
discounted ai the pre-tax discount rate rhat reftecrs the risk5 Specific to the liabiliry. The unwinding of the
discount 15 recogni5ed in the Statement of financial activitses a5 a finance cost.
2.7 Flnancial instruments
The Charity only has finanoal assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial
instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised ar transaction value and subsequently
measured at their settlement Value with the exception of bank loans which are subsequently measured at
amortised cost using the effecrive Inieresr merhod.
2.8 Pen5rons
The Charity operates a defined conrribution pension scheme and the pension chacge represents the amounts
payable by the Charity to the fund in respell of the period.
