What a fantastic year it has been for Brown Clee, from competitions, to socials, to
overall enjoyment. We have had such a good backing of consistent eager members
wanting to do everything they can, to show how good this club is. Such as turning
up to socials keen to have fun, ranging from quiz nights, speed shears and
numerous pub of the months.
As well we have taken part in a fair few comps throughout the year with the first
one being Braintrust in November, where we entered two teams- one very young
team and another more experienced team - low and behold the junior team only
went and showed up the older team. Ourjuniors even went on to go and represent
Shropshire in the speaking day, heLd at Stafford, where they all showed true
Brown Clee spirit and did their true best having fun at the same time! We
introduced a sevens rugby tournament which I can't believe how incredibly well it
went even with the weather being truly against us. This year ourjunior team and
women's team pulled themselves through to the second round of the tug of war
competition, held at the three counties show. Our teams did the club truly proud
with all the effort Chris and Simon had put into them. To sum up the year after
another great foam party, with more than £1700 raised for our four chosen
charities. We won club of the month in October from national, as well as having
two of our members Max Porter and MiLlie Evans nominated in the NFYFC achiever
awards. The true cherry on the cake is winning rally 2024 for the 7th year!! and
many other awards to go along with the celebration.
The community surrounding Brown Clee is outstanding and this year has truly
shown it. From the members being so active, to the advisory being so involved and
helpful and finalLy our president Dave looking over us three.
Finally I'd like to thank Katie and Archie for sticking with me and helping me along
every step off the way, through thick and thin, and I wish all the best to George,
Emma and Charlotte for next year, in which I know you will do incredible!
