For Rotary Club of Uttoxeter Trust Fund

Trustees’ Report

Introduction

This Trustees’ Report is presented to the members of the Rotary Club of Uttoxeter for the year ending 31[st] July 2025. It provides a summary of the club’s activities, financial management, governance, and notable accomplishments, upholding our dedication to transparency and service

Governance and Structure

The Rotary Club of Uttoxeter Trust Fund is managed by the Trustees in accordance with the direction of the Members of the Rotary Club of Uttoxeter, in accordance with the provisions of the Declaration of Trust dated 29[th] March 1995.

Objectives and Activities

The objectives of the Charity are the relief of the poor and needy and other such charitable purpose, institution, society or object as the Members of the Rotary Club of Uttoxeter shall from time to time direct. Over the past year, the activities of the Charity have involved:

In addition to our community service projects, the Charity made a number of donations to worthy causes and charities as detailed in the year end accounts. Particular note is made of our on-going support for Rotary Foundation, the charity of Rotary International.

Financial Review

The Trustees have thoroughly reviewed the club’s finances and confirm that all resources have been managed responsibly and in accordance with our Trust Deed and legal obligations. Revenue has come from membership subscriptions, fundraising activities, and generous donations. Spending was directed towards delivering projects, club administration, and charitable contributions as detailed previously.

A prudent reserve has been maintained to safeguard the club’s future and to enable swift responses to emerging needs. Independent auditing has verified the accuracy and integrity of our accounts.

Risk Management

Major risks have been identified and managed through appropriate controls and procedures. The Trustees conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to legal requirements and Rotary International standards.

Achievements and Impact

The Trustees are delighted with the diverse array of projects undertaken by the club this year. Of particular note is the successful launch of the Dementia Café, which stands as a testament to our commitment to serving vulnerable members of the community. This initiative has developed into a regular weekly gathering, offering a welcoming environment for individuals living with dementia. Importantly, it also provides vital respite and fellowship for their carers, recognising the essential role they play and the challenges they face. The Dementia Café now occupies a central place in our programme of community support, reflecting our dedication to enhancing quality of life for both sufferers and their carers.

Our Presidents charity this year was CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and we succeeded in raising sufficient funds to have two hundred local young people screened for any cardiac issues. Following the screening several were referred for further tests after specific issues were identified.

Future Plans

Looking to the future, the Trustees remain committed to maintaining the club’s community impact, launching innovative service projects, and deepening member engagement. We will be running another CRY screening programme next year plus supporting our new President’s chosen charity ‘A Child of Mine’.

Conclusion

The Trustees wish to express sincere gratitude to all members, volunteers, and supporters for their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the year. Together, we continue to foster positive change in Uttoxeter and beyond. Signed on behalf of the Board of Trustees
