inspiringthem to discoverthe best in themselves and to make a positive difference in
their community. We workwith girls aged and youngwomen aged 4- 18 years and also
support our adult18aders to grow and learn new skills
Lancashire West specifically had the following aims for 2024-2025
1. To focus on the 12 + age group which was still struggling post Covid 19, not only in
numbers but also in the low confidence levels displayed by the girls
2. To celebrate the Brownie 110 year anniversary
3. To support leaders with essential training (initial and updates} in first aid and
safeguarding. plus skiiis training
In response to Aim 1 we ran a weeklong camp for Guides and Rangers aged 10-18 which was
visited by Brownies aged 7-10 years to aid transitions beiween Sections. Two years earlier we
had noticed how girls were hesitant to go away from home without their parents As a result of
this County camp we have opened two new Ranger Units for girls aged 14-18. In addition to the
camp, ran half day events for members aged 12-18 years. to explore the arts and enjoy
outdoor activities. We also supported financiallya young leader. whowas selected to participate
in a Girlguiding NW England visitto South Korea.
For aim 2 we ran three silent discos for Brownies with birthday cake- enjoyed by Brownies and
adults alike and resuLting in requests forfurther similar events

In line with aim 3we have provided regutsrtrainings for leaders, free of charge.we have also had
hBlf support sessions forcommissioners, who supportguiding in localised areas.
