ear ended 31 March 2025
The charity has been administered by the Business Manager, initially for the Whitby Secondary
Partnership Federation up to 31 August 2024, in conjunction with Head of School and a
designated Govemor of the Whitby Secondary Federation Partnership. Since September 2024, the
two schools within the Whitby Secondary Federation amalgamated and became known as Whitby
School. This charity then became known as the Whitby School Charitable Fund.
The governing document is by a constitution adopted 6 February 1995, as amended in September
2014 when the College amalgamated with Caedmon School and subsequently in September 2024
as the school became known as Whiiby School.
The bankers to the Charity are Virgin Money (fomerly The Yorkshire Bank) and the independent
examiners to the a¢¢ounts are Wasley Chapman LLP, Chartered Accountants.
The trustees are Susan Boyd (Head of School until September 2024 and then Deputy Headteacher
at the school), Mr Mark Taylor (designated Governor), Sally Nedley (Finance Officer) and Jackie
Hunter (Business Manager).
The object of the charity is to advance and enrich the educational outcomes of students at Whitby
School and Whitby Sixth Forni by providing or assisting in the provision of educational,
recreational and oth¢r charitabl¢ facilities in augmentation of such facilities financed by the Local
Authority.
During the year, a range of educational visits and enrichment activities took place. supported by
the fund. The fund also continued to support vulnerable learners throughout the year with
equipment and other resources. The fund subsidised the costs of a range of enrichment
opportunities for pupils including forei￿ exchange visits. Some site improvements have also
taken place over the year, including improving safety and security across the school's sites. The
Charity has retained sufficient funds to continue the same level of extra-curricular activities for
students as seen in previous years.
