CAEDMON COLLEGE WHITBY PRIVATE FUND

REPORT AND ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2023

Caedmon College Whitby Private Fund

Registered Charity Number 1048288

Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2023

The charity is administered by the Business & Resources Manager at Caedmon College Whitby, in conjunction with the Head of School and a designated Governor of the Whitby Secondary Federation Partnership.

The governing document is by a constitution adopted 6 February 1995, as amended in September 2014 when the College amalgamated with Caedmon School.

The bankers to the Charity are Virgin Money (formerly The Yorkshire Bank) and the independent examiners to the accounts are Wasley Chapman LLP, Chartered Accountants.

The trustees are Susan Boyd (Head of School), Mr Mark Taylor (designated Federation Governor), Sally Nedley (Finance Officer) and Jackie Hunter (Business & Resources Manager).

The object of the charity is to advance and enrich the educational outcomes of students at the College and Whitby Sixth Form by providing or assisting in the provision of educational, recreational and other charitable facilities in augmentation of such facilities financed by the Local Authority.

During the year, a range of educational visits and many enrichment activities have taken place, supported by the fund. The fund also continued to support vulnerable learners throughout the year with equipment and other needs. The fund will continue to support trips and travel and enrichment activities for students at the College and Whitby Sixth Form going forwards, including subsidising the costs of foreign exchange visits. Some site improvements have also taken place over the year, including improving the Alternative Provision classroom and improving safety and security on the Sixth Form site, due to additional grant funding received. The Charity has retained sufficient funds to continue the same level of extra-curricular activities for College students as seen in previous years
