Report of the trustees for year ending 31[st] December 2023

This Charity is constituted under a Deed dated 17[th] July 1995. It does not actively fundraise but receives donations from a number of regular donors.

The Trust had an income of £31,193 in the year. The Charity does not have any capital assets or endowments, nor does it have any long-term commitments beyond one year. The Trustees ensure the income is used for the relevant charitable purposes. In accordance with Charity Commission guidance it seeks to have reserves of 25% of annual expenditure.

The Trustees seek to have a personal knowledge of the projects supported, which guides the grant-making process. Each project is reviewed annually for compliance with the Trust’s aims and Commission guidance. The income and expenditure is somewhat lower than the previous year.

Grant making

Grants made during the year amounted to £25,725. These included support for Christian mission and relief agencies working outside the UK; grants were also made to churches, Christian workers and Christian youth projects within the UK.

Public beneft

The Trustees have referred to the guidance on public benefit when planning present and future activities and setting grant-making policies for the year. The Charity does not carry out any charitable activities but chooses to work with partner charities and organisations to achieve its aims. The effectiveness of each grant is evaluated, including reference to safeguarding, which guides decisions on whether to make further grants available. Two Trustees hold enhanced DBS certificates.

Risk management

The Trustees have considered any major risks to which the Charity may be exposed and have reviewed the procedures to manage those risks. The Trustees are not aware of any attempted fraud or theft during the year.

Approved by the Trustees on 8[th] June 2025. Helen Hotchkiss, Trustee.
