**A Manager continues in position, having been appointed to oversee the organisation as a whole. This was achieved with the support of the McGee Trust who offered a monthly salary of £500 to enable Cornerstone to appoint to this much needed role.**

**Primary focus of the role includs working to advance the charity as a whole in order to make more of an impact, use of resources and be sustainable for the future. Significant work involved the updating of the building, including the physical structure, health and safety aspects, policies and procedures as well as the development of vision/plans for the charity moving forward.**

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the Donations to Charities and Organisations via the Church arm of Cornerstone public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have Yearly Donation towards Childs Education in Kenya - £554.00 had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Donation to Israel Appeal - £300.00 Commission on public benefit)**

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

**Cornerstone has had a busy year with several partnerships and joint working activities. The local Scout group (1[st] & 2[nd] Everest Winlaton Scouts) now have Cornerstone as their home. Initially this was the 12–16year-olds but this has expanded to the ‘Wolf Cubs’ for 8–11year-olds as well.**

You **may choose** to include **We have also partnered with the local Gateshead Family Hubs** further statements, where **to facilitate seasonal art and craft drop ins which have proved** relevant, about: **popular.**

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

**In addition to this there have been 2 new exciting projects. The first is a partnership with DaySix charity to facilitate a men’s drop in to support men’s mental health via a chat, cuppa, games, support and general space to connect, relax, recharge and reflect.**

**The second is an in-house project set up by one of the volunteers who connected with a group of home-schooling families. One of the priorities for home schooling is the socialisation for children, so one day a week we have a drop in for home schooling families to come and allow the children to interact, learn, play and have fun together. This also allows parents to connect and support each other.**

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

**Cornerstone again has made significant steps this year to not only safeguard its longevity, but also commit to finding a way to better support the local community. It has continued to focus on the internal structural updates where finances permit. We are managing to get our lard hall developed and safe with the installation of new lighting, emergency exit and disability ramp to improve access (and safety) for all.**

**This is nowhere more evident than with the increase of partnerships and joint working that have enabled more support, activities and events to take place for the community.**

**As mentioned previously, The Attic charity shop has relocated and continues to be a welcomed and valued part of the local community. Which in turn has helped us address some of the aforementioned areas.**

**Chris Thompson, has continued to be committed to the charity (and the role funded by the McGee Trust) in order to move things forward. Funding has been agreed for another year for this role.**
