**Objects:** THE ADVANEMENT OF EDUCATION IN LITERATURE, SCIENCE AND ART

**Activities:** The Society organises an annual series of lectures, usually held in Leicester New Walk Museum, for the advancement of education in Literature, Science and the Arts.  It publishes proceedings and supports the museum.  Natural History and Geology Sections organise further events. The Society has close links with  Leicester, De Montfort and Loughborough universities and Leicester City Council.
