## **Annual Report for the year to 5[th] April 2025**
The Mesopotamian League is registered with the charity commissioners (No 1047435) and constituted by Deed of Trust.
The charity is administrated by management committee, comprising
Chairman Dr Mohammed Jawad Ali Secretary & Treasurer Dr Jalal Jafar Other members Lamya Mohammed
The Object of the charity is the advancement of education and relief of poverty and hunger among needy human communities in any part of the world. The charity depends on continuing help of the volunteers mainly from Iraqi community in Britain and relief areas.
This year showed increase in the activity, both in collection of donation and payment made to help the needy.
The donations collected were spent in the normal way in the following areas :
- 1- Provides support to orphans, widows and suffering families with little or no income or who left without sponsor in Iraq.
- 2- This year in Iraq, we focused on education for students and emergency supplies for those struggling through poverty. We rehabilitated classrooms, toilet facilities, ceilings and furniture in two schools in rural area. The main aim of this project was to encourage young girls to maintain their education by attending schools. The project benefited 400 existing students in the school.
- 3- We gave out Eid gifts to over 200 orphans, and distributed clothing to 60 poor families, so that they could join in celebrating.
- 4- Mesopotamian league also distributed school bags, stationary, sports outfits and trainers to 120 poor children enrolled in education so that they could participate in their studies.
- 5- Support was provided to local community activities and needs like Community Saturday School and youth activities.
The charity is still aiming to improve on its administration and widening its activities.
