Trustees report.
On examining the figures across all accounts, it can be seen that the expenditure exceeded the income this year, Mostly due to the amount of money spent from the fundraising account some of this was money (£1465.13) which was received in grants in 2019/2020 and has now been spent in 2020/2021 and also any fundraising we were able to do after covid restrictions were lifted in the summer was not paid into the bank until 2021/2022.
The contingency account has been used during the year to top up the main account to cover wages as numbers have still been low due to covid. We received a £7051.00 funding adjustment from NCC in November to help with the lower numbers so this money was put into the contingency account and used when needed. The payment was made based on the funding claim figures from autumn 19/20. £7700.00 was all used to cover the shortfall and holiday pay in September. £3000 of this is due to be paid back in Autumn 2021/2022.
The purpose of the contingency account is to set aside sufficient funds to pay staff redundancy in the event of the Pre-School closing. In august the amount needed to cover this is £8200, this needs to be made up.
In summary all the accounts are ok but the contingency account needs to be made up. The setting is in a reasonable position going into September 2021 the staffing and other general running expenses need to be managed carefully as there is not a great deal of money to play with and the autumn term is historically very quiet.
