The financial slatements have been prepared in accordan<* with the accounting policies set out in note 110 the
financial statements and c(Knply with the chatity's goveming document, the ChaiTbes Act 2011 and "Accounting
and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities prepaFing their accounts
in accordan￿ with the Financial Reporting Standaro applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102)

Objectlves and actlvlties
The object of the Chanty 1$ to assist in the protecbon and p￿ser¥ation of the fauna and fiora , in particu18r bth not
exclusively , the black thino in the Aberdare Pafk Rhino Sanctuary , and other mountain eco Systems wthin East
Since 1995 the management of chartty and fur￿raISmg activttÈes have been undertaken by Ihe TTUStees
and VolunteefS, none of whom received any remuneration in the year.
The Trustees have p&id due regard to gutdanee issued by the Charity Comrtyssron(tncludÉng thowe on publi¢
benefft} in deciding actiyities the charity shoukl undertake.
A¢hlevements and perfomiance
We continued to PTomote our aims and lift our profile of the Work that is G3ryied Olrt by The Rhino Ark Kenya
Chafilabte Tnjst in the environment and biodive¥5ty areas in Kenya. We submttted several applicabons for a
¥ariety of granls lor funding in partt"cular of continuing the building of Mount Kenya fenee,conserv2tlon and
Safety of ltte blac1( rnlno In Ihe Atserdares and ralnwaier l¥arvesYng al scfwls in our conservaiion e¢Jucaiion
programme. All Ihis work wll help to seve￿ty human wildlrfe conllict and nwke safe routes for
children lo pass to school as well as pro¥idtng a safe soure£ of water at the schools. This also covers
working with local communrties who provide much sUPPOrt in helping in cessation of killing, poaching
snaring of wik11ife, illegal logging for both charcoal and buming as fvel and degradatH)n of tbe biodiversity
where they live.
The annual major tundraising event - The RhIr￿ Charge in Kenya - was held again and raised £94,272
efore Gfft ￿COvery. Our Trustee John Bowden Continued his $L￿cesS in the event as his Car No g was
the wnner of the unmodffied vehides for the fourth year in a row.
The London Marathon was also held in October and our CoMmenda￿e five njnners raised £9,977 before Gfft Aid.
This year we had four riders took part in the 100 rn1￿ section of Ride London raising £4,130.We attended

gfatefvl for their sponsors lo permit us I￿ attendance and for those who donated at and yisited our 51ands. In
addition we attended the Kenya in the Park evenl at Ealing Common . London , and obtained donations and t)ew
supporters.
Funds raised in 2023 for Rainwaler Har¥esting were successfulty utilised at four sthwls in the Aberdares at the
inning of the year and a fvrther srx schools had systems commenced t(ywards the end of the year trom net
fvrKls provided by the London Marathon and Ride London partiapants.
In May we held Ihe inaugural UK Rhino Challenge at Pippingford PaTk in East Sussex which raised £2,786 ir%
entry fees and sponsorship. This 1$ a famity cycling event for teams wtth a variety of small tasks . Attendees were
from new and old supporters and were pro¥ided wrth refreshments and other ttems for Sale by third parlies . We
thank also Pippingford Park Co Ltd for the hire of the area used.

supported Pfolects in Kenya . As a result of this ¥I￿t she was appotnted Rhino Ark's first Gtobal Ambassador in
2024 . Lucy wll be giving a presentalion for us al the Royal Geographical Sooety on 25th February 2025 when

lo Kenya.
Through 2025 we will Continue to make grant applutsons. raising our profile on $ctial media, 2ttending shows
and events where practical and supwrting our fundfaisers. We also iook to fonn new co￿$1￿1e and twsl
partnerships.
Flnanclal revlew
We lake this opportunfty to thank all our donors across Ihe fundraising events and those making
general donations lowaids our aims. We also thank the team from Rhino Atk Kenya Charitable Trust for
their support in providing rete¥anl documentation and fundtaisww maletial.
As a result of grant making requests ￿ wish to thank again The Big Give Green Fund for £5,OiJQ
matchlng sum for some Rnino Chaoe supporter Oonations and the Eleanor F<athtK)ne 1.rust Lharrtable
for £1,000 towards rainwater hatvesting malerials foi schools in the Aberdares.
The Irustees are salisfled with the financtal activity during the year and the positton at the ba12nts sheet
date. The accounts have been prepared OTI a golng concern basis arKI thete are no uncertainties lo report

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds whith have not been designated for a speuts use should be
mairrtainets to cover al teast Stx months expenditure and that has been achieved in the year. The Twstees
consider Ihat reserves at this level will ensure thal . in the event of a significant drop in income , they will be able
to continue Ihe chafity's current activities Ythile constder*ton is given to ways in whith additp)nal fund$ may be
raised . The level of reserve is reviewed e¥ery six months and rf in surplus. then an agreement to donate is made
fvrthet lo diSCL¢ssions carried out WFth Rhino Ark Kenya.
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are Satisfied that systems are in
place to mitigate exposure to Ihe major risks.
Structure. governance and management
The Charfty was fotmed by a Oedaration ofTrusl on 15 1995 Lind regi5terEd wllh the Charlly Commlssion
on 8 June 1995. A new Declarats"on of Twst was made on 7 March 2013.

The Board held four forn￿1 meetings in the year.
Saleguarding
All Trustees and visitors to Kenya on behall of the Charity are made aware of the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable
Trust policies for Safeguarding and Child Protect%on and requested to abide by them. These policies are posted
on the rhinoark.org webstte on the front page. Our own Safeguarding policies are also available on the website
under our own page .
