Asset Cover for FuThds
The Trust's assets are held as short-trrm bank dcp05sts. These are sufficient to rneet the In￿1.5 immediate
obligations.
Reserves
and Risk Man
emeni
The Trust reviews its reseJy¢5 and risk wlicies routinely as part of its mana8emcnt of the Chariry's operations.
The Tn]st identifie5 th¢ biggest risk io its aetivities as the withdrawal of the virMally free premises. To address
this, it continues to negoiiate the agreement wtth th¢ Parorhiai CoLuJciI which Sets out the non-¢ommercial
ature of the provision of the premises. The other signEfJcant risk is an itaterruptioD to daV-t(￿aY activilies
which would impact on in¢05ne whilst requiring oTrntinued mteting ofoutgoings. The Trust wnsid¢J5 that it
d5 to be able to meet these QUI￿Oi￿g$ for a period of at least six moDths to enable it to manage such crisis.
The experience of ihe pandemi¢ teinforced ourvscw this was a Msible cours¢. It therefore will ¢onlinue to

Choirfs RekN)rt for 2022
2022 was the year when we finally began to return to some Sort of nomalty as most of the COVID-
related restrictions receded. Income from ￿gUlar hire and audience numbers both returned to
something like 2019 levels. Rising energy costs as a result of war in Ukraine. however, posed a major
new threat to our solvency. We took stepsto control costs, postponing high cost projectsand investing
in new technology. for instance in controlling heatin8 from off site. Volunteers contributed hvgely to
this process. introducing improved access to the gantry. ca￿￿nE out PAT testin& and setting up the
HIVE system.
We saw improvements in our reSe￿e finances. but held back from most large project expenditure
because of the uncertain srtuation.
We started the yearwith a highly successfiJl panto, albeit with ￿duced audience numbers (to maintain
social distancing). Later in the year the One Acts festival invo￿e(l local actors, directors and Wflters.
We continued to develop the visual arts and an expandin8 range of varied activities, bringing
children to the centre for the-Rewilding da￿. for instance. and working wtth Regency Books on the
Surbiton Lf(erary Festival. Blatk History month was celebrated in poetry and song.
A wide range of visrting companies came to us. including youth theatre groups and innovative
touring shows. Comedy was well represented by Whole Lotta Comedy and Outside the Box.
Folk at the cornerHOUSE, starting in 2022, became a regular and popular feature.
At the heart of our work is our association with local schools and colle8es and charttable and
communily groups. This dtversty was also represented by our Film club and Singalon& both
involving a wide range of age groups.
As always, we are indebted to our heroic band of volunteers, to our generous landlords. St
Matthews Church and to our inspectors of accounts. Sloane Winckless.
