Trustees’ Report for the period ended 31 March 2025
The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their Annual Report and Financial Statements for the period ended 31 March 2025.
Reference and administrative details
Llanharan Recreation Ground Trust (“the Charity”) is a charitable Trust registered and in Wales.
The Charity is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under registration number: 524178.
The registered address of the Charity is Welfare Hall, off Bridgend Road, Llanharan CF72 9RA
Statement on public benefit
The objectives and activities, achievement and performance sections of this report clearly set out the activities which the charity undertakes for public benefit.
The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty of the Charities Act 2006.
Objectives and activities
The objectives of the Charity as defined are:
The provision and maintenance of a recreation centre playing fields including children’s play area, sports pitches (rugby and football) Green space in Llanharan and Bryncae, Community Activities.
To achieve the charities objectives, the charity focuses activities on providing a good quality facility for all to benefit from.

Management
All positions within the charity are on a voluntary basis and no expenses are paid. The charity during 2024/25 had approximately 10 volunteers.
Achievements and performance
The Trust has again experienced another exceptionally busy year, seeing more improvements thus ensuring the longevity of this much needed facility.
Financial
The charities income for the year was £60,897 including grant receipts.
The expenditure of the charity stands at £66,895.00

Trustee Report
The Trustees wish to pass on their grateful thanks to Martin & Sarah Liney who manage the hall and grounds on our behalf. Their commitment is never in doubt, the board also welcome Adrian, who is already supporting Martin with the ground.
Further external work has taken place, more maintenance of the ground, the installation of a safe secure space for children and the installation of new rugby posts. The later two funded by way of grants.
The facility remains a vibrant busy venue, where the fields are used 7 days per week as well as the hall.
The Trust has supported several ‘charities’ during the year by way of free use to support their work as well as financially supporting the boxing and football.
The Trust is grateful to the support from their long term users.
November 2024 saw the community firework display take place which had a record turn out, as well has several other high profile events.

Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the position of the charity.
In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to:

Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently

Observe the methods and principles in the charities SORP

State where applicable UK accounting standards have been followed; subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements.

Prepare the financial statements
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the transactions by disclosing with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial p0osition and ensure that the financial statements comply with charities Act 2011, the charity accounts and reports regulations 2009 and provisions of the Trust deed. The trustees are also responsible for the prevention and detection of fraud and all other irregularities.
In so far as the Trustees as aware:

There is no relevant information of which the charities independent examiner is unaware and

The Trustees have taken all steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves aware of any relevant information and to establish that the independent examiner is aware of that information.

Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees for the year ended 31 March 2025
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the period ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on Page 8
Respective and responsibilities of the trustees and examiner
As the charities trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in the accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the act”)
I report in respect of my examination of the Trusts accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable directions given by the charities commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiners statement
I have completed my examination; I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:

The accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

The records did not accord with the accounting records or
-
The accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities accounts and reports Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of the independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in the report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
