**Objects:** TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY THE STUDY OF NATURAL AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES IN ALL THEIR BRANCHES AND ESPECIALLY TO PROMOTE THE STUDY OF THE  FAUNA AND FLORA OF THE ROSSENDALE DISTRICT. TO ENCOURAGE THE STUDY OF SOCIAL  AND INDUSTRIAL HISTORY OF THE LOCALITY.

**Activities:** To encourage interest in local flora and fauna and social and industrial history.To maintain and operate a museum, library and lecture programme to support this.
