Members join the choir to sing at local events and events where the choir takes part to raise funds for other charities and money raising good causes. For example the choir travelled at their own expense to Hull in Yorkshire last December to sing at a concert where £1400 was raised for Cancer Research.
The choir owns the building where we practice. The building is also used by the local ladies choir, the young farmers club and a local ladies group.
This year we received a grant of £139000 to refurbish and upgrade the facilities in the building with a view to extend its use more in line with a community centre.
£114000 has been received in grant revenue and £94247 of which has been spent on the building up to the year end. The building work is scheduled to be finished in 2026.
