Annually, new trustees are supported and inducted by the outgoing trustees via
a handover process concerning the affairs of the charity.
There is a committee of supporters that assist the Trustees and provide advice
support and continuity for the charity.
Trustees are encouraged to participate in development opportunities provided
by the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers, Clubs. The templates and
resources for this are provided by the National Federation of Young Farmers,
Clubs and additional information is provided by the county federation of YFCS.
The cha rity is affiliated to the Yorkshire Federation of Young Fa rmers, Clubs and
the National Federation of Young Farmers Club5. Together these form a network
of clubs throughout Englarld and Wales for young people aged 10 to 26 years.

Ob'ectives and activities
The objects of the charity are:
l. To advance the education of young members of the public at large in
their knowledge of agriculture, crafts, life skills, rural affairs a nd
country life,
In the interests of the social welfare of such members to provide and
promote the provision of facilities fo r recreation a nd other leisure time
occupations, being facilities which will improve their conditions of life
and will assist in the development of their spiritual and mental
capacities, self-relia nce and individual responsibility so that they may
grow to full maturity as individuals and members of the community.

The Trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to the guidance issued by
the Cha rity Com mission on public benefit in deciding what activities the charity
should undertake.
Tadcaster & Wetherby Young Farmers carry out a varied programme of
meeting which a lign with the Charity's objectives.
The charity recruits its members from a significant section of the community
at large. Everyone aged 10 to 26 year can be a member of the Tadcaster and
Wetherby Young Farmer's Club in order to participate in activities and
discussions that increase thei r knowledge of agriculture, crafts rural affa irs and
country life. The charity actively recruits its members, aged 10 to 28 yea rs,
from a catchment area of 10 miles of Tadcaster and Wetherby.
The club activities also contribute to and create leisure activities for members
and on occasion for the rural community in which the charity operates. The
community around the charity benefits from our members being active citizens
that contribute to the rural comm unity.

Achievements and performance
Summary ofthe main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The Club has conducted many activities over the year 35 part of a varied
programme. These have included having tours around many agricultural
businesses, training events including stockjudging and public speaking and
conducting charity events such as the annual muck chuck and dinner dance.
Contributing to activities run by other organisations We have taken part in
many events to widen the public's knowledge of young farmers and the
agricultural community such as competing at local shows and stalls at public
events.

charity's policy on reserves
The charity's policy on reserves is to generate and ma intai n a reserve which will
allow sufficient funds to:
ma intain the financial viability of the Cha rity in the event of unforeseen
and/or unavoidable circumstance that brings a short-term fall in its
income;
> to perm it the Charity, in the interests of meeting its charita ble objectives,
to from time to time establish a new and innovative project on a project
basis to demonstrate the feasibility of such activities as a test to
maintaining such projects on an on-going basis.
For these purposes the Charity will endeavour to maintain reserves which are
at least 50Yo of it5 annual turnover.
