NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS
Overall, GreenSpirit financial reports are considered enough for the size, complexity, and purpose of the organisation. For purposes of secure governance, the treasurer displays the accounts at each council meeting and the Chair & one or two other trustees have sight of recent bank and bank/building society statements of GS ‘reserves’ at council meetings. All transactions need dual authorisation.

GREENSPIRIT INCOME AND EXPENDITURE 2024-2025
We always need to have a minimum amount in reserve and though our reserves take a small dip each year we are in line with our projected budget and are still benefiting from a generous legacy.
Our income is mainly from subscriptions and donations, and generally we make a small profit on events (but this is not always reflected in accounts because income sometimes occurs across different financial years.)
Bank statements are reconciled and the income and expenditure (and any necessary movements of money from one account to another) is reported to the council 3 times a year at each council meeting.
We use online accounting software (Free Agent) for bookkeeping and condense the financial information from that into each report.
Restricted funds are finds set aside for a specific purpose, in this case for supporting members to attend events.
-
Magazine costs include printing, distribution and image costs. 2. Income from book sales.
-
Coordinator cost is fees and expenses. 4. Events (walking break, wild week and conference added together) but only gives figures for this financial year.
-
Website expenses include accounting software and ISP costs.
-
Includes Invoice 4501 (£24) paid early
