Shiva Charity is a small independent charity that works directly with schools in Nepal, Sri Lanka and India. We have a small team of three in Nepal who identify and manage projects.

Shiva Charity aim to provide child centred, creative education for students in Nepal and Sri Lanka by improving their school environment with new buildings, paying teacher’s salaries, repainting schools , providing clean drinking water, building new toilets, teacher training, providing school resources (such as computers/musical instruments,) and individual child school sponsorship. 

Fundraising has been made possible by a variety of methods using our web-site, Facebook page and through our annual cultural visit to Nepal by friends of Shiva Charity.  We have had regular loyal support from other charities such as the Wrington Vale Rotary Club and the R.A.O.B. In addition, we have a Just Giving page to make donations easier.

|**Summary of the main**<br>**achievements of the charity**<br>**during the year**<br>**ustees Report**|In Sri Lanka in 2022, we provided monthly funding to<br>pay the teachers at the Pitipana Pre School near Ne-<br>gombo.<br>Shiva Charity continued to provide monthly financial<br>support to pay the teacher's salaries at Harold Whiting<br>School near Banepa in Nepal.<br>**Jan -**Child sponsorship was provided for the poorer<br>children at Dipshikha school, Nepal.<br>A new toilet block was completed at Harold Whiting<br>School and an osmotic water filter was installed provid-<br>ing clean drinking water and a hand washing station<br>with 4 taps.<br>**Feb -**Computer classes were provided at Dipshikha<br>School with an annual subscription to the internet.<br>**March**-Thanks to the support of the Brit Valley Rotary<br>Club an osmotic water filter was installed at Jyamdi<br>School providing clean drinking water. Music classes<br>took place at Harold Whiting School.<br>**April -**Shiva Charity paid the annual salary of 18 teach-<br>ers in several poor school in the Midnapur region of In-<br>dia thanks to donations from friends of Maggie<br>Flanagan.<br>12 students from Westonbirt school visited the Ginette<br>Harrison School for three days delivering lessons to the<br>children and helping paint the classrooms.Westonbirt<br>school also raised funds to paint the whole of the out-<br>side of the Ginette Harrison School.<br>**May**- Shiva began to pay the salaries of teachers at<br>Dipshikha School.  Carpeting and cushions were<br>provided ay Jyamdi school.<br>**June/July**- Free teacher training was provided  at the<br>TVF centre in Banepa on a Saturday morning.<br>**August**-  A new osmotic water filter was installed at<br>Santa School to provide clean drinking water.<br>**September**- New musical instruments were bought for<br>Sanga school including ukuleles<br>**October - December**Free computer classes were<br>provided at the TVF centre in Banepa on a Saturday<br>morning.<br>Oct**2023**<br>4|
