APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES: Trustees have been appointed on the basis of the relevant exp¢rtis¢

The board of trustees administers the Charity.

The objective of the Charity is lo maintain the Deal Memorial
Band5tAnd as a 'livin8' memorial to eleven miisiciaiis of lh¢ Royal
MllrfftiiLs killed by a boinb 011 22 Scpteinber 1989. llie Tnislees
confirni thai Ihey have complicd wilh their dilly as prescribed in
the Chnrities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity
Commission's guidance on public bvnefit.
ACTIVITIES:
The Charity or8an15ed a full season of live concerts at the
Bandstaiid each Suiiday from May to September 2024, with only a
small number of events can¢ell¢d due to bad weather and
individiial bands, availabilily on the day. Thc annual memorial
conccrl perlornied by Her Majesty's Royal Marines returned and
was held on 23 Junc 2024 on Walmcr Green and ￿]nain5 the
highllght of our concert series.
RESERVES POLICY:
The level of reserves at 31 October 2024 amounted to £66,752
(2023 £79,228) The Truslees Consider it necessw to maintain a
level of reserves sufficient to cover the re-build costs of the
Bandstand in the event of significant storni dnm#8e.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the flllancial statements of the Deal Memorial Bandstand
Trust (the Trust) for th¢ ycfjr ended 31 October 2024.

As the charity Iruste¢s of the 'fnJ5t, you are responsible for the prq)aration of the fmancial statements in
accordance with the requiremcnts of the Charilies Aci 2011 ('thc Acl,).
I report in respect of my examinulion of the Trust's financial statcmeiils ¢arri¢d oul uiidcr section 145 of the
Acl and in carrying out my examinati()ii I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity
Coininission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examinlltion. I confirni that no material matters have ¢om¢ to my ailention in conncction
with the ¢xaminalion giving me caii%e t(} believe that in any material respect.,

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basls of Preparatlon
11]e fmancial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity, have been prepared in
accordance wilh the Charlties Act 201 l on g Receipts and Payments basis.
The flliancial statements are presented in sterling which is the ￿n¢t101)a1 currency of the charity.
Capltsl Expendlture
Items of a capital nature, such as soiind equipment elc, are wrillm off in the year of acquisilion. In this
ycar no expciiditure was Incil￿ed as all ¢qiiipm¢nl was hired for events,
Fund AecouThtlng
Income which can only be used for restricted purposes, and ils relaled expendilure, is accounted for as
r¢strict¢d ￿nds. All other income &nd expenditure is accounted for as 8enerRI funds.
Taxatlon
No provision is inade in the accounts for taxation as th¢ Trusl¢¢s are of the opinion that all of the
Trnst's activities are of a charitable n8ture and therefore oiilsidc the scope of taxation.
Neither the Truslces, nor any persons coimected with them, have received any rniluiieratioi) or
expenses during the year.
Restricted funds received in the year totalled £1,000 {2023 £1,200). Funds r¢c¢ived from Kent County
Council or £1,000 (2023 £1,200) were in respect of the hire of media equipment for the Roylll Marines
Concert which t(Trok place in June 2024.
