## **4. Chairs Report** 

Let me begin by thanking all the Trustees who have attended our monthly meetings throughout the year. I want to especially thank Michelle Fryer, Trust Treasurer, who has been working very hard and putting in many hours to support myself and the Trust. I also wish to thank our Caretakers on whom we rely considerably to keep our building in good order. 

We can’t say that the previous year has been easy since we lost the three main long-serving Officers who all retired at the same time. Plus, three newly elected officers resigned and we have not been able to recruit new volunteers to replace them but that is a work in progress. 

The Trust was fairly successful in bouncing back from the Covid 19 closures as far as bookings are concerned, unfortunately our costs have risen substantially and despite the best efforts of our Treasurer the Trust’s funds are sadly depleted but efforts to book new groups are ongoing. 

During this last year I’ve had meetings with Karl from the Roseberry Community Consortium who are building us a new updated website and he will be available to help us whenever needed. 

I’ve also met with Heather and Lucy from Catalyst who are going to help us to recruit Trustees to our Management Committee to take on the roles that 



Michelle and I have been doing between us but need to be shared with others willing to give an hour or two of their time each week/month to ensure the continued good management of the hall.  There is to be a Volunteers Market on June 2[nd] 2023 on Stockton High Street that I intend to take part in, hopefully with other Trustees or volunteers from the hall users. 

This past year, in addition to new Officers taking on their roles we have found a new gardener and a new handyman. We have new user groups that we did not have before so although we have had a year of change and new beginnings, going forward the IBCH will continue to be a facility that is a wonderful asset to the community.
