The officers present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025.
Activities
Kenilworth Round Table is a charity and exists to promote fellowship and service to the local community.
Public Benefit
The trustees have had due regard to guidance published by the Charity Commission on public benefit and consider that the charity complies with the requirements.
Achievements
Kenilworth Round Table has enjoyed a successful year with fundraising from Kenilworth’s annual bonfire once again, the Christmas carol float and with other events raised just over £95,000. This has enabled the charity to support many local causes.
Reserves policy
The charity has established a policy of retaining unrestricted reserves of between £500 and £3,000 to hedge against unexpected expenditure and retaining restricted reserves of around £21,000 as a provision against the possibility of losses on future fundraising events.
Investment policy
As the object of fundraising activities is to provide the means to make donations to worthy local causes it is not anticipated that funds will be retained longer than the short term. Therefore, surplus funds are invested in a high interest deposit account.
Grant-making policy
The charity receives many requests for support from all aspects of Society. All requests are considered by the members at general meetings, but the emphasis is very much on supporting the local community which means Kenilworth and its outlying villages and services which support the county of Warwickshire.

Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s report
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
