The trustees present their report together with the accounts of the association for the year ended
31Sl December 2024.

The trustees of the charity are the executive committee members for the tlme being. The executive
committee consists of honorary officers plus four ordinary members. The ordinary members elected
to the executive committee are elected at the annual general meeting of the association and serve
for three years. Honorary officers, who must not be ordinary members elected to the executive
committee, are also elected at the annual general meeting of the association.

Potential new trustees are introduced to the association by existing trustees. They are then
appointed (for otherwise) by the members in general meeting. All existing trustees have experience
of charity (or similar) committee work. As an introduction, newly appointed trustees are given
information and advice concerning the history and activities of the association, trustee
responsibilities and relevant charity legislation and regulations. They are also given a copy of the
latest report and accounts in order to gain an understanding of the association's financial affairs.

Charity law requires the trustees of the assoclation to prepare a receipts and payments account and
a statement of assets and liabilities for each f inancial year. In addition the trustees are responsible
for keeplng proper accounting records which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's
transactions and to disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the
association. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking
reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
Ob'ects
The objects for which the association is established are for the relief of slckness and the protection
of health in particular by promoting research into the causes, treatments and other aspects of
headache and by disseminating the useful results of such research in the UK and in the Netherlands
and by such other ways as the association through its executive committee shall from time-to-time
decide.

Activities
In order to achieve its charitable objectives the association holds an annual scientific meeting which
provides a platform for education and the exchange of ideas relating headache, specifically the relief
of sickness and protection of health in connection therewith. This meeting, together with other
activities undertaken from time-to-time, enables the association to meet the Charity Commission's
public benefit crlteria.

The 34 Anglo Dutch Migraine Association meeting was held in Ghent Belgium on IS June 2024.
The meeting was organised by Dr Koen Paelmeliere. The meeting was well attended with full lecture
theatre and Ilvely discussions. The Chairman introduced the new members of ADMA named as Dr
Sophie Dorsey (UK), Dr Michell Oswal IUKI, Dr Mieke Heitkamp {NLI, Dr Suzanne Geerts INLI, Dr Iris
Meeuwis {NLI and Dr Stas Zylics (NLI. The programme in 2024 included topics of general interest
including other comorbidities of migralne such as epilepsy, autoimmune and psychiatric disorders.
The Marcla Wllkinson Memorial Lecture was delivered by Anna Andreou from King's College, London
and invited lectures were given by Dr Emlle Couturier and Professor Jan Versijpt.
Results and f inancial

The recelpts and payments account for the year ended 31. December 2024 is set out on page 6. The
receipts for the year were £ 26343 and the expenses were £ 42885 with the total deficit of £ 16542
In the year 2022. The bank balances totalled £ 54662 at December 2021 were £ 57827 on December
31" 2024. The overall deficit was a result of lack of sponsorship from the pharmaceutical industry
and reserves were used to finance the annual meeting.
The trustees are of the opinion that the overall state of affairs of the association at 31, December
2024 is satisfactory and the association has a level of reserves which will effectively meet its future
obligations.
Public benefit
In preparing this report the trustees have given due regard the Charity Commlssion's general
guidance on public benefit.

l. Accounting pollcv
The accounts have been prepared based on the three monthly statements and receipts from
the UK accounts and a summary of income and expenses received from the Dutch account.
Amounts received and paid in euros are converted to pounds at a rate of 1.12 as on 31,
December 2017.
2. Expenses relmbursed and other payments to trustees
Trustees are reimbursed expenses necessarlly Incurred on behalf of the association to attend
the essential board meetings. The secretarial expenses are absorbed into the expenses
incurred on the meeting in the year.
