TRUSTEES REPORT 2021-22

This has been a much more difficult year for fundraising. Demand on our service has been greater than ever with us having to close our service to new parents for the first time and a large proportion of our funding being spent on the complexity of which tribunals have become. Our most grateful thanks to our long term funders the Yapp Charitable Trust, the Paul Bassham Charitable Trust and Norfolk Freemasons with match funding from their Grand Charity.

We continued to operate from our Old Catton office and selling books from outside the office.

Our most grateful thanks to Danielle, Nikki, Claire and Karla for their dedication in supporting families.

We took on a stand at the Norfolk Show for the first time this year to inform visitors of our work.

Special thanks to our Ambassador, Claire Brooks, landlady of the Walnut Tree Shades for promoting the work of our charity and raising funds through a Music event, Quiz nights and a collecting tin.

We took part in several events over the year, including for the first time one at Brundall Coop, Sprowston Fete and several Christmas Fayres.

As we came to the end of this Financial Year two of our long standing Trustees resigned. Our thanks to them for their work over several years.

Thank you to Chris Jay for preparing our accounts and Kim Mayfield for auditing the accounts.

We celebrated our 35[th] Anniversary at the Belvedere Centre at the end of October and look forward to securing and consolidating our funding over the coming months.

We face more challenges in the coming year with both Mediation meetings and Tribunals scheduled for several months ahead an schools adopting more stringent behaviour policies leading to more exclusions. We are increasing our level of fundraising to try and meet need.

Since the introduction of the Children & Families Act 2014, we now support young people themselves (16 to 25) who have special educational needs to find the right educational provision.

- Our Committee is elected in accordance with our constitution from our Membership each year at our Annual General Meeting

Our aims: are to help _all_ parents of children with special educational needs to find the education which is right for their child and to support young people 16 to 25 to find the right provision to meet their needs.
