Oxenhope pre-school is an OUTSTANDING (Ofsted – November 2024) setting that has been serving the local community for more than 40 years.
We pride ourselves in providing quality early years education to children aged 2- 4 years in a setting where children are valued, nurtured and happy. Our team are all highly qualified, experienced practitioners who have a real passion and drive for excellence in early care and education. We believe that children should have access to a range of stimulating, engaging activities which encourage, inspire and allow them to make progress in all areas of their learning.
Early child development sets the foundation for lifelong learning. The first five years of a child's life are extremely important. They are the foundation that shapes future health, happiness, growth, development and learning outcomes. We know that children learn best when they feel safe, secure and happy and we work tirelessly to create an environment where everybody can thrive and wonderful relationships and bonds are formed with children and their families.
Overview
This year we saw Ofsted enter our setting for the first time as mangers & we are beyond delighted that we received an outstanding and will remain outstanding after our previous success , this was no easy task in the early years sector and under the new framework ands we as a setting are unbelievably proud our children shone through that day and really showed the inspector what is was like to be a student at Oxenhope Pre- School.
“The Provision is outstanding in the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management”
Fundraising
Fundraising is an important part of Oxenhope Pre-school; however, we recognize that it is a lengthy process. We are also aware of the constant constraints involved in asking parents for input.
As a result, we have continued this year with our three favourite events. Our Christmas raffle is always a huge hit, alongside our Bunny Hop and our Gala Day.
Christmas raffle 2025 £465 always an amazing donation and ticket event we saw some great prizes we were able to put this into our charity fundraising account to go towards our outside space. Oxenhope Gala July 2025, Emily & Charlotte worked this year on the stall and raised £290, we used this to go towards the outgoing of our graduation which is always a memorable day.
Staffing

This year, we have returned to a full team of five staff members. This change has significantly relieved the pressure of my previous room-leading duties, allowing me to focus more effectively on the management side of the setting. As a result, after-hours workload has also come to a close.
Having Hannah back on the team has made a huge impact on staff morale. We are all working exceptionally well together, and the entire team is feeling the benefits of her return. Additionally, I am pleased to share that Sophie has successfully completed her Level 5 NPQEYL. This achievement has further deepened her knowledge of maintaining a successful educational setting. Emily &Helen.
They continue to strive to be amazing staff members, each taking on individual roles with great dedication. They are fantastic key workers, and the expertise and knowledge they bring to their work is a true credit to the setting.
Charlotte’s performance and her contributions to the team continually provides the management team with a clear structure for our daily routine and significantly strengthens the ethos within the setting. Furthermore, when Sophie is in meetings or away for training, Charlotte delivers the setting with ease and ensures everything runs smoothly.
We truly appreciate her dedication and the support she provides to the leadership team.
Aspirations for the next financial year.
some positive news regarding our financial status. Our new model of ramping up admissions for September is working well, and we are finally becoming more stable financially.
This is great news, as it means we can soon begin to invest in new resources. While we are still a little way off from where we want to be, this progress provides us with one less stress to worry about. We plan to continue working with this admissions model moving forward.
Aspirations for our next academic year
our recent Ofsted inspection went amazingly well. We could not have asked for a better outcome, as we have officially been rated as "Outstanding."
Achieving this rating as a new management team is truly exceptional, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. We remain fully committed to providing outstanding education to all of our children for many more years to come.
