OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Objectives and Activities The charity's objects are to support th8 pre-sctrKJol in the running of the setting. Public Benèfft The Pre-school is open to all children, without any catchment area, nationality. religious or other restriction, from when they are years old until they are able to enter infant school. Earfy Years funding was available for all children from the temi following their third birthday until they were able lo enter infant school and some children were eligible for funding from the temi following their second birthday. No children are therefore excluded for finanGial reason. Volunteers The wmmillee relies on volunteers in th8 carying out of its duties, FINANCIAL REVIEW Flnancial Posftion The setting is financially viable. Prlndpal fundlng 80urces The principal source of funding during the year was from Norfolk Education grants and pre- school parent payment fees. Investment policy and objectives The inv8Stment objectives are to achieve grovrth, whllst minirnising risk. Surplus funds in thè general fund are placed in a bank reserve account, together with the funds being accumulated in the high interest account. Reserve8 policy It is the policy of the trustees to maintain general funds, excluding those funds invested in fixed assets, at a level that equates to three months expenditure, a figure approximately £45.000. This provides sufficient funds to cover salaries and other ¢osts incurred in the event of a temporary reduction in income. Th8 trustees and staff are to be commended for continuing to achieve the target of free reserves. Futur¢ Plans The commitlee wlll work with th8 Staff team to ensure the pre-school r8mains sustsinabl8 In view of the challenges the early years sector faces. The committee will continue lo review th8 stralegy of the future development of the pre- STRUCTURE. Recrulimont and Appointment of Committoo Members At least 60% of the committee, including COPted members. must be parents or guardians of children in the Preschool. In the evenl thal 60 % cannot be a¢hieved, then affiliate members may be elected. The committee members are elected at the annual general meeting. Retiring committee members are eligible for re-election. The committee members were all elected at the AGM in Aulumn Tem 2024. Commltteo Members Induction and Training New committee members are encouraged to read the charity's constitution, the last financial statements of the charity and the Charty Commission guidance, CC3. Rl8k Managemont The trustees have reviewed and identified the risks that Ihe settlng faces and have systems to monitor and control these risks to mltigate any impaGt they may have on the pre-school in the future. These systems arè r6Vi8wed on a regular basis. Organisational Structure The Charity has a committee (l)oard of trustees) conststing of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and no less than 1 or more than 9 elected members. If the committee so decides. it may have not more than 3 members co-opted by the committee. The committee meeting as and when needed and a minimum of three times a year. The day to day running of the pre- school rests with the setting manager as assisted by the staff, together with any volunteers they might have. Koy management remurnratlon The key management personnel consist of the Pre-school Manager and Ihe Deputy Manager. They are remunerat8d at a rate which is based on the prevailing rate for the sector.
