PSLC has a Club constitution that sets out the aims, governance and conduct of the club.

The Charity is constituted as a club. The trustees are voted into their position by the
members of the club with each member carrying one vote. In amplification of the
Constitution there are Club Rules, Governlng Membership, Duties of Officers, Equipment
nd Administration.
SEcfioN C- OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Aim
The aim of the Club is to save life, whether by prevention or by rescue, from the beach. To
achieve this the Club wlll.. In furtherance of the objects but not otherwise the Club may
exercise the following powers..
lal To promote water safety to all beach activitie5 through its motto of 'Vigilance & Servlce"
Ibl Develop Beach Lifesaving methods in all respects
Icl Comply with the basic Patrol; uniform & regulations as issued by the Board of Examiners
of the Surf Lifesaving Association of Great Britain
Idl Work in the closest possible manner with 911 other bodies & organisations whose work is
conduclve to the aim of the club
Main activities
Llfe saving sport replicates all the elements of the skllls needed to save a life, building
confidence and fitness and hones the ability to respond to Ilfe threatening sltuations.
Training is carried out on the beach, in the pool, In the ocean and on craft.

purposes of the club are directlyfor the publlc benefit as required by the Chority Commission.

life saving Club
Club is in a strong position with number of members in the
club rising on last year. Good to have new parents on the
work force and committee bringing new energy and ideas.
The lease is the single most important thing to be sorted this
coming year and l am very positive it will be sorted by the
team dealing with it. We have fantastic team of coaches
which we know but having great comments from the general
public over the summer and with the region very impressed
reinforces what we say as a club. Lots on people waiting to
join the club which is a sign of all the good we have done
within the last year during another interesting, challenging,
and tough year than expected The Club committee and
coaches had a massive responsibility again this year training
on the beach and I thank everyone for their help, support,
and professionalism in this year. We need to develop our
sub-committees over the coming to help with the ever-
increasing work load we all have. It's fabulous news with
help from club members the pool we use for winter training
has been saved from closure saving a massive problem for
us as a club the pool will now be ran as a community
interest.
The Club committee and coaches had a massive
responsibility again this year training on the beach and I
thank everyone for their help, support, and professionalism
in this year. As every year we need to fine assistants for all

our roles so when the transition happens across the
committee roles it's a smooth transition.
It was great to see 7 members from the clubs of a variety of
ages working for the RNLI on Polzeath beach and then giving
up some free time to help with water safety cover it our club
sessions it shows the developing partnership we have with
the RNLI and the attitude and great culture we have
embedded within the club.
The finances have been run fantastically coming out of these
tricky times with no fund raising being able to be done
which has been essential to keep the club on a sound
financial base. We hope to get back to fundraising this year
to help financial balance.

The financial health of the charity is reported to the trustees on a regular basrs by the
treasurer. The trustees are given a full understanding of the blubs ongoing income and
liabilities. With this information both procurement decisions and fundraising strategies are
agreed at Tiustee meetings. A prudent approach is taken to maintain the financial health of
the club over the long term.
SECTION F- OTHER INFORMATION
During the previous year a grant was received from Sport England which was restricted in
nature. Due to Covid 19 the terms and conditions for the use of the grant could not be met.
We have requested an extension for the project to be completed within. if the project is not
undertaken the grant will be refunded.
Further to the above the grant is still under review with Sport England.

A grant had been received from Sport England in a previous period which had
not been fully spent within the lime flame slipulaled in the conditions. A request
has been made lor the lime period lo be extended and Po1zeath Surf Lifesaving
Club are awaiting a response. If the period is not extended the Charity would be
due lo refund £5,843 lo Sport England.
