As soon as the minutes are completed any recording will be deleted. ## AGENDA - Apologies for absence - • Chair’s report for 23/24 - • Treasurer’s report for year ending 31 August 2024 - • ©SA - Appointment of independent examiner of accounts for year ending 31 August 2024 - • Overton School Election of Officers and Trustees of the Committee ## CHAIRS REPORT – ACHIEVEMENTS - During last academic year we ran the following events: - Fireworks ,Christmas Disco, Christmas cards, Easter disco, Lottery, Name the Christmas Elf, Summer Disco, Summer Fete, Grow a Pound, Frozen Finish - We purchased rope posts and red carpet for the current and future Year 6 leavers disco – they had such a special day - 16 keyboards and headphones arrived in the music room. Mrs Dyer said ‘Thank you, they are brilliant and we are using them all the time. We are now running specific keyboard playing lessons for all children in Year 3, and we use them in lots of other lessons too. They have made a really big difference to the music we can offer’. - Thank you to all who supported us by volunteering, baking, and all the Committee members for their help, time and skills running the events ## CHAIRS REPORT – Fundraising - As we are fundraising for the new PA system we did not make any monetary donations to the school last year. As the charity's trustees you consider that the audit requirement of section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) does not apply and as the income of the charity did not ex￿ed £250,000, l am qualified to undertake an independent examination. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act. follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under seth'on 145(5)(b) of the Act. state whether any unusual items have come to my attents'on. In accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners, I have examined all the accounting records kept by The Overton School Association and have prepared the accounts accordingly. The review also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees con￿mIng any such matters. The prO￿dureS undertaken do not provide all the eviden￿ that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
