Following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years, we were able to resume postponed opportunities, by reconnecting with communities across the UK and Europe. This year allowed us to reaffirm our partnerships with dedicated individuals we have trained and equipped in previous years, enabling them to carry out vital humanitarian work. ## Supporting Those in Crisis The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has brought additional hardship to already vulnerable communities, particularly refugees, homeless individuals, and orphans who have sought shelter across parts of Europe. Working alongside the local teams we previously trained, we have been able to provide essential support to those in greatest need. Teams in Germany and Norway have stepped up to assist refugee families and orphans with care and compassion. Through the generosity of our donors, we have been able to send funds to provide medicines, blankets, warm clothing, and shoes. These provisions have been critical, especially as many children faced harsh winter conditions. We remain deeply concerned for their well-being and have ensured access to medical treatment, heating supplies, and other essential resources to help families and children survive and maintain their health. ## Education and Counselling Education remains a key priority, as access to learning materials and school resources continues to be a significant challenge for many refugee families. With our support, numerous children have successfully passed their school examinations, despite difficult circumstances. At Christmas, we were able to bring joy and relief to children in Germany, Norway, and Latvia by providing warm meals, educational gifts, and winter essentials such as heating and medical supplies. These small but vital acts of care reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting families during times of hardship. ## Family and Relationship Support In addition to humanitarian aid, we have continued to focus on supporting families facing relationship and emotional challenges. Seminars conducted throughout 2023 and 2024, both in-person and online, have provided much-needed support to struggling families, including those dealing with relationship breakdowns, teenage issues, and isolation. These seminars remain popular, with counsellors and caregivers across Europe benefiting from training sessions designed to equip them to assist others in crisis. Some of this material has also been translated into other languages to reach a wider audience. ## Looking Ahead This year has reminded us of the resilience of those we serve and the compassion of those who give. While challenges remain, it has been encouraging to see the real and lasting difference our work is making in the lives of families, children, and orphans.
