Report of the trustees for the year ending 31[st] August 2025 and confirms that the organisation complies with the requirements of the Charity Act 2011, the Trust Deed and Charities SORP (FRIS102).
REFERENCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
St Michael’s Pre-School is a registered charity operating from the community of Tettenhall village. St Michael’s Pre-School has been serving the community of Tettenhall for nearly 60 years. The charity is governed by Volunteer Trustees. The charity successfully delivered a broad programme of learning experiences supporting children’s development across all areas of EYFS.
AIMS OF ST MICHAEL’S PRE-SCHOOL
To provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which our children can learn and develop through play and exploration. We seek to promote the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and creative development of every child, helping them to reach their full potential. We offer an educational environment for children both girls and boys aged 2 to 5 years old. We offer a good parent/carer partnership and promote equality, diversity and inclusion. We support children’s readiness for school.
PRESENT
At the present time the Charity in the process of restructuring, partly because there is a need, as previously reported, for more Trustees and Committee Members.
The accounts presented here have been drawn up by the Secretary as acting Treasurer in the interests of speed. The accounts have been examined by Mr MD Wood, who is a former Church Treasurer and a former Charity Treasurer but is also related to the Secretary.
The work of the Charity however is not affected by these items and continues as normal.
Any changes occurring as a result of actions relating to the above will be reported to and/or discussed with the Commission as necessary.
ACHIEVEMENTS & FUTURE

continue to fundraise to pay for modifications to the Pre-School to improve child provide new experiences for the children.

continue to improve facilities for the children by upgrading equipment within the room and garden. We also offer trips out to the zoo, and local play areas.

continue to provide an educational environment through Terrific for Twos funding, Working Twos funding, NEF and 30hours funded places as well as fee paying places.

continue support for children with additional needs through targeted interventions and partnerships working with external agencies.

continue to provide staff and apprentices with the current up to date training where needed.

the Pre-School are currently fundraising for an interactive white board for the Pre-School room. This will enhance the children’s visual, auditory and hands on learning.
The Trustees are pleased to report positive outcomes for children’s learning and development, with most children making good progress from their starting points.
PUBLIC BENEFIT
The Trustees have considered the Charity Commissions guidance on public benefit. The charity provides accessible early years education and care to local families and offers funded places to ensure that services are available regardless of family income. The trustees are satisfied that the charity’s activities demonstrate clear public benefit.
FINANCES
The charities total income for the year was £146,239.69 primarily from childcare fees, government-funded early education entitlements and fundraising activities.
Total expenditure was £156164.98 mainly due to increases to staff wages and costs, premises expenses, resources and training.
The Trustees are satisfied with the charity’s financial position and believe it remains financially sustainable.
RESERVES POLICY
The Trustees aim to maintain unrestricted reserves sufficient to meet between 3 to 6 months of operating expenditure. This provides protection against fluctuations in child enrolment numbers and any unexpected costs.

’ EXAMINER REPORT - FOR ST MICHAEL S PRE-SCHOOL ACCOUNTS 2024/2025
As stated in the Trustees Annual Report accounts have been prepared by the secretary whilst the Committee continue to appoint a new treasurer.
The accounts have been examined by myself Mr MD Wood as acting auditor and I am satisfied that the information supplied appears to be accurate. I have no concerns and have come across no matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
