## **New Ingrebourne Trust**

## **Year Ended 31st December 2024**

## **Report of Trustees**

The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and financial statement for the year ended 31st December 2024

The New Ingrebourne Trust is a registered charity number 1042768 constituted under a Trust Deed executed on 7 November 1994

## Aims and Objectives

The aims of the Trust are to support, strengthen and build the cohesion in the community recognising the value of the local church taking in the community.

## Activities

In 1995, the Local Authority granted to the Trust a ten-year lease on a local social hall. The hall was refurbished and opened as the Ingrebourne Centre in April 1996.

The Trust signed a new lease for a further 20 years with effect from 1 April 2006

The Trust maintains the Ingrebourne Centre now known as the Ingrebourne Community Hub and the external area to a good standard along with a property that is held to house ministry staff of St Peters church.

A review of the use of the building resulted in a plan to redevelop the Ingrebourne Centre to expand its operations into more of a general facility for the people of the area and the redevelopment was completed at the end of 2019 such that it was able to reopen in January 2020.

The alterations to the building allowed the Trust to expand its activities within the community including supporting both young people and the elderly, setting up a language group, a reading group for children and facilitating groups to build resilience particularly with the more vulnerable.

The Hub is also able to operate as a meeting centre for local people, community groups and other Christian action groups

## 8 Archibald Road

The Trust owns a property known as 8 Archibald Road which was purchased in 1994 by a number of donations given by members of St Peters Church.

That property continues to provide housing for ministry staff at St Peters. During the year the Trustees have agreed that the property should be made available at no cost to St Peters and at the same time St Peters have agreed that they will maintain the property and reimburse any costs which the Trust may incur in respect of the property.

## **Results for the Year**

At 31 December 2024 the receipts and payments account showed an operating surplus of unrestricted funds of £83

Reserves

At the year end the unrestricted reserves amounted to £2975 which the Trustees realise is well below what is required for normal operations. It is their desire during 2025 to increase the level of reserve in the coming year, however recognising the financial limitations for customers and users of the Centre.

## **Trustees**

The Trustees during the year are as follows:

Andrew Rogers

Kevyn Davies-Jones

Stuart Brooks

Robert Hudson

Amanda Stoddart - resigned 12 June 2024

Ian Jeffrey

John Norton

## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities**

The Trustees are responsible for keeping the proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Trust. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Trust and for taking reasonable steps for the detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees**

## **of The New Ingrebourne Trust**

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 December 2024, which are set out in the attached pages.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

As charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirements of section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 does not apply.

It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners undersection 43(7b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of Independent Examiner's Report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanation from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by these accounts.

Independent Examiner's Statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements have not been met:

* to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and

* to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act.
