The directors are responsible for preparing the directors, report and the financial statements in
accordance with applicable law and regulallons and in accordance with United Kingdom Generally
Accepted Accounting Practice.
Company law requires the directors to prepar8 financial statements for each financial year. Under
that law the directors hava 8lected to prepare the financial slalements in accordanc8 with United
Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounling Practice (United Kingdorn Accounting Standards and
applicable law). Under company law lh8 diiectors must not approve tho financial statemgnts unl8SS
they are satisfied that they give a Irue and lair view of Ihe state of affairs of the company and the
profit or loss of the company for Ihat period.
In preparing these financial statements, the direclors are required to .
select sultable accounting policies and Ihen apply them consistently
make judgements and accounting eslimales that are reasonable and prudent
state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material
departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to
presume that the company will continue in business.
The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show
and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the
financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply
with tha Companies Act 2006. The direclors are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the
company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.
The directors are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial
information included on the company's website. Legislation in the United Kingdom, governing the

General Informatlon

These financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102 - The Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland and th8 Companies Act 2006.
Basls of praparatlon
The financial statements have been prepared under Ihe historical cost convention as modified
by the revaluation of land and buildings and certain financial instruments measured at fair value
in accordance with the accounting policies.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling which is the functional curr8ncy of th8
company,
Group accounts
The company is a parent company subject to the small companies regime. The company and its
subsidiary comprise a small group. The company has. Iherefore. taken advantage of the option
provided by section 398 of the Companies Act 2006 not to prepare group accounts,
Turnover
Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and seNices supplied by the company, net of
Value Added Tax and trade discounts.
Governmant grants
Government grants received are crediled lo deferred income. Grants towards capital
expenditure are released to the income statemenl over the expected useful life of the assets.
Grants received towards revenue expenditure are released lo the income statement as the
related expenditure is incurred.
Operatlng lease rentals
Rentals payable under operating leases aro charged against income on a straight line basis
over the lease term.
Research and development expenditure
Research and development expenditure is charged to the income statement in the period in
which it is incurred.

Foraign currencles
Monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies ar8 translated into sterling at
the rate of exchange ruling at the statement of financial position date. Transactions in foreign
currencies are recorded at the rate ruling at the date of the transaction. All foreign exchange
differences are included to Ihe income statement.
Proference dividends
Where preferenco shares are classed as liabilities rather than equity any preference dividends
paid are included in interest payable and similar charges within the income statement.
Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreclation
and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided al rates calculated to write off the
cost or valuatlon of fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful
lives on the following basis:
