Trustee's Report
For the year onded 31 December 2024
The Trustees presented their report along with the financial ststement of the charity for the
year ended 31 December 2024. The financial statements comply wrth the charity's
constitution, applicable law and requirements of the Statement Recommended Practice
{SORP 2005) °accounting and reporting by charities..
Status and objects
The Church is a registered charity established to use its income for pursuit of its objects.
The govemance of Harton Street Parish of Celestial Church of Christ is vested in its trustees.
The membership retains unto itself the right of exclusive self-government in all phases of its
life and organisation.
It recognises the needs for mutual counsel and cooperation which are common among
Celestial Church of Christ churches. The Church will cooperate with and mutually vrfork with
other organisations, rts members, and Celestial Church of Christ world-wide parishes to
pursue rts objects which are.
a) The advancement of the Christian religion by propagating the Gospel of Jesus Christ
in accordance with the tenets of Celestial Church of Christ through evangelism,
education and training, including printing, publishing, distributing and circulab'ng books,
joumals and other materHls which in the opinion of the trustees would enable
achievement of this object.
b) To provide for the relief of members of the Celesb'al Church of Christ who are in need.
c) To advan￿ the education of members of the Celestial Church of Christ and to provide
social welfare and facilities for recreation and leisure time (xcupation with the aim of
improving the conditions of life of such members.
d) Harton Street Parish to be welfare ￿nIred charitable organisation which caters for its
members and the community at large.
e) The Church is not, and shall not be registered, under the Marriage (Same Sex
Couples) Act 2013 Section 43 for the purpose or in order that, a same marriage
ceremony could take place in the Church building.
Rlsk Management Statement
The Trustees are aware of the major risks to which the church is exposed and consider that,
having regards to the scale and nature of its operations, the current system of controls Is
effective, taking into consideration the following.
Health arKI safety policy is being reviewed in line with changes in regulatsons.
A Child Protection policy has been adopted by the church.
Adequate Insuran￿ cover is taken on building contents and public liability.
Organlsatlonal structure, governance and management
The church is governed by a Board of Trustees, who are elected to serve the Church and run
its affairs. Annually the Board reviews the range of skills it has available and uses Its power of
c￿optIon to ensure that gaps are filled. These are nomially members of the church who are
volunteers.

Method of appointment or election of Trustees
Trustees are appointed by nomination of interested church members and subsequently voted
into office to serve a two-year renewable term.
Actlvrtles and achlevements
The Board of Trustees has considered the Charity Commission guidance on public interest
benefit in the principal activities of the church. In the year under review, the Church
encouraged and welcomed members of the community to live out their faith by providing a
place of worship and fellowship. It offers vafiOUS community events and activities to facilitate
relief for persons in condition of need, hardship or distress by demonstrating the love and
spiritual power of our Lord Jesus Christ through.. ministerial outreach, relevant practical helps,
community education, musical concerts, youth mentoring, bible teaching. community day,
worship and fellowship.
Revlew of acllvltle8
The church celebrated its Annual Harvest during the year in August 2024 and the Children's
Week. These programs attracted an average cumulative of 2,165 participants from various
ethnic backgrounds in London, outside London y￿thin England and Nigeria.
Chantable actFVities which were organised for the largely Migrant community includes:

Association.

Review of finances
As shown in the financial report, the Charity's income from member donations in the financial
year ended 31 December 2024 was £75,503 (2023.. £68,506); total payments made by the
Charity amounted to £63.655 (2023.. £71.492) leaving net receipts of £11,848 (2023: net
payments of £2,986). Total cash funds at the year ended 31 De￿mber 2024 was £72,838
{2023.' £80,990). Celestial Church of Christ fijnds are held in interest-bearing funds with rts
bankers, and this yield an interest amount of £781 during the year.
Reserves Pollcy
This will provide sufficient funds to cover the church overhead and its objectives and to
improve rrembership attendant. It is the policy of the church to retain unrestricted funds at a
level that will not constrain its financial commitment. This will provide sufficient funds to cover
the church overhead and its objectives.
Plans for the future
To Develop the Vicarage and have a counselling room for women abused by their partner and
set up a computer room which facilitate learning. to change the air condition system in the
main church and instruments of the Choir.

Trugtges. responsibilities in ralation to the financial account
The Trustees are responsible for preparation of financial statements that give a true and fair
view of the state of affairs of the Church and of the receipts and payments for the reporting
perlod. In preparing those acGounts the trustees are required to:
Select surtable accounting policies and apply them consistently
Make judgemenls and estimates that are reasonable and prudent
Prepare the accounts on tha going concem basis unless it is
inappropriate to presume that the charty will continue in operation
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which dlsclose with
reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity. They are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the preventlon
and detection of fraud and other irregularfties.

Church of Christ
I report on the financial statements of Harton Street Parish of the Celestial Church of Christ
for the year ended 31 December 2024, which are set out on pages 8 to 9.
Respedive Responsibllttl88 of the Tru8tee8 and Examlnor
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. The
charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of
the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to..
1. Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act,.
2. Follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145{5llb) of the 2011 Act., and
3. State whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of Independent Examlners, Report
My examination was carried out in accordance vlith the general directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity
and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking
explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The prccedures undertaken
do not provide all the eviden￿ that would be required as to whether the financial statement
present a true and fair view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement
below.
Independent Examiners, Statement
