## **Introduction** 

The Trustees of Broomhill Junior School, Hucknall, present their annual report for the year ending 31 March 2025. This report outlines the school’s purpose, activities, achievements, governance, financial performance and future plans. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The charitable purpose of Broomhill Junior School is to raise funds that broaden and enrich the opportunities available to pupils, including the provision of enhanced extracurricular activities and additional learning resources. 

## **Main Activities** 

Activities include the collection and payment of monies for residential and day trips, fundraising to support the purchase of additional resources or reward experiences for pupils, and the sale of book bags and swimming badges. 

## **Financial Review** 

Opening balance: £15,404.45 

Closing balance: £20,048.46 

Total receipts: £28,594.97 

Total payments: £19,950.96 

Income included camps (£22,419.67), day trips (£603.22), book bags (£15.00), miscellaneous (£2,097.06 including bank interest £728.12), and fundraising (£3,475.02). 

Expenditure included camps (£15,942.00), day trips (£330.00), book bags (£0.00), miscellaneous (£2,906.18), fundraising costs (£772.78), and photography (£1,395.00). 



## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

Governance provided oversight of standards, safeguarding, staffing, finance and strategy. Trustees appointed per Instrument of Government. School Business Manager manages daily operations. 

## **Risk Management** 

Risks assessed: financial pressures, safeguarding risks, operational capacity, compliance risks. Mitigations include strong policies, audits, and governor monitoring. 

## **Plans for the Future** 

The trustees plan to continue raising funds to broaden the opportunities available to pupils, including the provision of additional extracurricular activities and learning resources.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 03 / 2025** . 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
