**Mudeford Wood Playgroup Trustees' Report for the year ended 31 August 2025**

2024-25 was another successful year for Mudeford Wood Pre-School with lots of local families choosing to send their children to our setting.

We arranged a full programme for the young people to help aid their development and enhance their experience at our setting. These included a Teddy Bears Picnic, Forest School, trips to the Beach and our ever popular ‘Baby Ballet’.

For the parents we held a Macmillian Coffee morning as a chance for local families to come into the setting, meet the staff and find out more about what we do. We also held a Christmas Party and Easter Party where parents and grandparents could come into the setting with their child and take part in a number of fun activities.

The 2024-2025 was a difficult time behind the scenes as we processed being evicted from Mudeford Wood Community Centre, our home of over 30 years. In recent years we have faced a number of issues with the Centre and we were served noticed to leave at the end of the 2025 academic year. Behind the scenes, the committee worked incredibly hard attending meetings and trying to secure our future elsewhere.

Financially we saw significant increases to our rent as well as substantial increases in National Insurance and the minimum wage. As we look ahead to next year we are mindful of the financial pressures of securing a permanent home and the costs associated with that.

We would like to thank our amazing staff team who behind the scenes had to deal with the risk of losing their jobs whilst still fully supporting the young people.

A special thank you to our volunteer committee members who helped us tirelessly behind the scenes, dealing with a very difficult time.

Thank you to all the families who chose to send your young people to our pre-school and we look forward to continue to grow as a setting and inspire our next generation of young people in the Mudeford area.
