The object of the Society shall be to promote, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Society through its Committee shall determine from time to time.

In achieving its objectives, the choir continues to increase its repertoire, attracts excellent audience numbers and maintains a healthy balance sheet. In addition, it continues to offer choral scholarships to local young people to enable them to advance their musical education. In return they perform as part of the main choir including undertaking some solo work.
