The Trustees submit their Annual Report and the Unaudited Financial Statements for the year ended 31 March 2024.
The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Ststement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and
Reporting by Charities. revised in 2005 in preparing the Annual Report and Financial Ststements of the Charty.
The Charity was set up in 1994. with the aim of educating the public In the dramatic and operatic arts and to further
the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts and to assist and further such charitable purposes
as seen fit.
Revlew of Artlvltles
The actlvltles and financlal results of the Charlty are set out In the Income and Expendlture Account on pages 4 and
5, and the statement of assets in the Balance Sheet on page 6.
2023 was a very importantyear for Dereham Theatre Company. celebrating our 75 anniversary. To mark this
slgnificant milestone, In addition to the annual pantomlme, we put on two other productions. Involving both Adult
and Youth members. a musical and a Masquerade Ball Style concert. where members performed a varied
programme of songs from across the years. Current plans for 2024125 involve three productions once more, a
pantomlme and separate Adult and Youth group muslcals.
Governance
Company and Charfty Law ￿qUIreS the Trustees to prepare Flnanclal Statements for each financlal year whlch give a
true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the Charlty and of the surplus or deficit of the Charity for that period. In
preparing those Financial Statements, the Trustees have.
selected suitable accounting policies and then applied them consistently;
made judgernents and estimates that are reasonable and prudent,"
stated whether applicable accounting standard5 have been followed, subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the Flnancial Statements: and
prepared the Financial Statements on the going concern basis.
The Trustees have overall responsibility for ensuring that the Charity has appropriate system of contro15, financial
and otherwise. They are also responsible for keeping property accounting records which disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial posltion of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the Financial Ststements
comply with the Charitles Act 2011. They are also responsible for Safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence
for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

We report in respertof our examination of the CharfW5 accounts carried out under sertion 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out our examination, we have followed the applicable Di￿rtionS given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515)Ib) of the Act.

examlnation includes a revlew of the accountlng records kept by the Charlty and a comparison of the Accounts
presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disck>sures in the Accounts.
