DSAUK continues to develop and grow. both in terms of mernbership number5 and
the offer of our support to our members. families and groups.
The staff, Chair and Line manager have maintained a weekly tatch-up meeting which has
proven to be very effective and helps to keep all the management of the DSAUK up to date
on a weekly basis.
Board meetings in 2024 have been held online and in person. this has proved to be both
productive and effective. We have been organisinE 3 board meeting every six to eight weeks.
Membership increased to 1081 full members and 3188 overall including associates.
The website has been kept consistently current and vibrant with the event calendar. news
articles and members succe55es. Member5 have the ability to book and pay for events
regionally and nationally on the website.
Regular contact Is made with Falkon and a maintenance agreement is set In place to ensure
security and overall running's on the website.
The DSAUK quarterly Reathout booklet h35 been published ihroughout 2024 and distributed
to members and available on all our social media platforms.
DSAUK are proud to play a pivotal role in helping to deliver #UnitingTheMovernent Our
partnership with Sport England and the Uniting the Movement strategy is a shared
commitment to creating lasting posilNe change.

Attended the first major event hosled by YST, It was a gfeat opportunity for the DSA to
further expand it5 self In the communlty Sport, school and the social sector.
Staff held a lecture at tlie UnSveTslty of Worcester. Lecturing the Sports Development and
Cooching Students.
DSAUK crcated a document highlightlng Genetlcs when starting a famlty when one or both
parents have dwaifism. Published Growth Hormone Document. Both d(Kuments have been
added to ihe resource sectlon of the web51te.
In March DSAUK members took part in the British Long Distance swim challenge with BDLS.
the event wa5 a great success and plans are belng made to make this a natlonal fundraiser
for 2025.
In 2024 we held our annual National Games, with 217 competitors attending and a record 26
new athletes participating for the first time. The event was a great success and attracted
athletes from Germany. Australia and Kenya. We received fantastic feedback.
iji I¢IoiLli 4024 we heli> a very successful badmillton tournament which had 36 membeis
take part. Supported by Badminton England and para badmlnton at Sheffield Els.
In October, DSAUK k staff attended the Brrtlsh Paralympic Discovery Day in Crawley. The
event was a great success, allowing us to connert with sport5 Stakeholders and attendees
with dwarf15m. DSAUK left with valuable connections, including the FA, and affirmation that
DSAUK plays a crucial role within the UK'S sporting community.
Attended the Sheffield Children's Hospital Christmas Party. Invited through our
connections with the NHS Trust, we had a stand to share Information about DSAUK. The
event provided a valuable opportunity to speak with families about DSAUK'S services and
foster stronger communication wrth the hospital. with the aim of directing patients at the
Trustlowards oursupport.
In November DSAUK ttended the Youth Sport Trust Regional Conference in Coventry. fime
at the conference was spent educating and connecting with School Games Organisers and PE
Leads about dwarfism. Presenting the At Every Sta8e booklet. hi8hlightin8 its value and
usefulness to Schools.
The first draft of the Taekwondo coaching guide was completed. waitin8 on final alterations
to publish this guidance In early 2025.
In collaboration with the Para Development Officer. we are l¢)okin8 at how we can create
more opportunities for our members to get invoNted in athletics field sp)rts.
DSAUK hosted a very successful Shooting training and toumament event in November 2024.
Due to success, 19 participates. thi5 will now become an annual national event for all
membersaged Ioand above.
Extremely successful national Boccia event with retord numbers. Introduced Ul(Ys category
for this yearfs tournament and increased to 8 Courts in 2024 due to increased number of
entries.
In 2024 Regional manager Tom attended 4 schools and l University visits. Educating
students about the DSAUK and raising Dwarfism Awarene55 throughout.
The D5A renewed its relationship with YST and attended the YST conference in 2024.

National training days for D5AUK women's football players at Manchester City. will
commente in 2025.
In 2024 we promoted our car share idea to assist members attending events re8ionally and
nationally to assist rising costs and friendships.
Nation31 events held in 2024 Included a badminton tournament in Sheffield, the 31st
Anniversary National Gawnes in May, a weekend camping event, the national shooting
tournament and the Boccia weekend in October. All well attended and great feedback given.

After ihe Success of the male Futsal Competition in 2022 the DSAUK have attNely held
discussions lo promote equality for our female members, Within the Futsal Committee.
In 2024 OSAUK trustees reviewed our 10-yeaT strategy and look to the future. Updated
accordingly with progre55 wnade. The strategy Sets out how the Dwarf Sports A550ciation UK
will develop its seThlces to engage. 5UPPOrt and ensure quality dellvery and opportunity for
people with dwarfism In 5POrt and recreatlon.
At the 2024 Pari5 Paralympics, 14 DSAUK members took part. Giving the DSAUK brilliant
representatlon across para swlmmlng, athletlcs. badmlnton and powerlifting. Many DSAUK
members went to Paris to SUPPOrt these athletes.
After the Paralymplcs, the DSAUK held an onllne meet and greet with most of the athletes.
The event Was well attended and fantastic feedback received.
Throughout 2024 DSAUK continued to support and celebrate DSAUK athletes and members
with their achievements, across soclal media and news articles.
D5AUK held 3 variety of online zooms Lo ensuie Inembers hod everi oppolunity to 2S
question5 and have total understanding before the National Games.

Membership increased by 109 full members and 335 associates during 2024, taking the
association to 3188 members in total of which 1071 are full RG members who we support by
providing regular sporting and recreational activitie5 helping to improve self-esteem.

DSAUK does this by providing regular sporting and recreational actlvities through our
regional structure. The DSAUK has 10 region5 in tota5. DSAUK deliver5 a broad range of
sporting events and social activities as well 35 engaging the local communities through our
schools and community group programme.
In 2024 the SE and SW regions both had a Change of voluntary co-ordinators. The new teams
are working well and all regions continue to be supported by the regional manager.
During 2024 DSAUK organised

Shooting tournament and 3 Botcia weekend.

DSAUK continued to play an active role in national campaigns to increase access to sport
and recreational actNlties for disabled people.
Partnering with the Artivity Alliance we commissioned a research piece on the benefits of
recreational artivity and independent living. which was published in. gainin8 Positive media
coverage across the UL
DSAUK continues to have good contact with Durham university and are lookin8 to create èn
update to the prevlous activity trap research which wlll be published in spring 2025.
We continue to work closely with the other NDSO'S with renewed collaboration on
Safeguarding, conventions ènd the Paralymplc taster day5. We also work Closely with YST
alongside the NDSO'S

offering a mixed programme of sporting and recreational events.
Grant Fundln
DSAUK relies on grant funding to SUPPOrt and fund our staff positions and are grateful for
the conlinued support from Sport England. the We all Make a Diffefeftce Charity during
2024.
Reserve Funds
The DSAUK has several reserve funds. A £20.Crf)O reserve to secure the associatlons event
programme if fundin8 is not found.
A DSAUK core cost reserve. representing one yearf5 overhead cover of £32.0￿.
A reserve fund of just under £21,000 as a contingency fund if the charity has a peri¢xl of time
when staff funding is not available and final￿.
These funds are reflected in the final balance sheet as Designated Funding of £47,780 and
Sport England Funding 01 £23.769, and Peter Harrison Foundatlon of £1.770 both in
Re5trirted funding. The total of these funds amount to £ 73.319 at the financial year end.

THE OASIS OF ACCOUNTING POLICIE5 AND DEFINITIONS
1.1 THE ACCOUNTS have been prepared under the historlc31 tost convention in
accordiince witli applicable accounting standards aftd the Chèrilie5 Act 2006
and StaternÈnt of Recommended Practice {SORP) 2005.
1.2 GENERAL FUNDS represent unrestricted funds that are not subject to anv
reslriclion regarding their use and are available for application towards theif use
purposes of a Eeneral nature.
1.3 RESTRICTED FUNDS represent funds restrlcted by the donor for a particular purpose.
1.3{3) DESIGNATED FUNDS represent funds that have been allocated out of Unrestritted
funds by the Trustees of DSAuk, for specific event5 or liabilities DSAuk is committed to.
Any remaining balance is returned to unrestricted funds when events have been held.
1.4 INCOMING RESOURCES are included in the SOFAwhen:.
DSAuk becomes entitled to the resourtes
The trustees are virtually certain they will receive the resources- and
The monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliability.
1.5 GRANTS & DONATIONS are included in the SOFA when DSAuk has unconditional
entitlement to the resources.
1.6 INVESTMENT INCOME is included in the SOFA when recetvable.
1.7 RESOURCES EXPENDED are recognised when costs have been incurred, or for
designated or special gifts, in the same accounting period as the related gift Is
received.
1.8 TANGIBLE FIXED ASSEfs are capitalised at cost when incurred, or for assets
bought in previous years, at valuation in 2024. The valuation of assets from
prevlous year5 was identified as income, in Voluntary Incoming Resources.
1.9 DEPRECIATION OF FIXED ASSETS is included in resources expended, to write off
the assets of over their useful lrfe,
3 years for Bikes & 4 years for other equipment.
1.10 UABILITY RECOGNITION- Liabilities are recognlsed as soon as there is a legal or
construrtive obligation committing the charity to pay out resources.
1.11 GOVERNANCE cosrs- The preparation & examination of DSAuk's annual statutory
accounts. AGM & trustee meeting expenses,. also legal advice given to trustees.
