Activities

The Trust manages the Underfall Yard site, including the Patent Slipway, and is responsible for the restoration and maintenance of buildings and machinery. The majority of buildings are let out to Maritime Businesses to nurture maritime skills in Bristol. The Trust improves public access and understanding through the Visitor Centre, opportunities for learning and operation of historic machinery.

Objects: To Preserve For The Benefit Of The Townspeople Of The City Of Bristol In The County Of Avon And Of The Nation At Large, The Underfall Yard Which Is Of Particular Historical, Architectural And Constructional Interest. In Particular, But Without Derogating From The Generality Of The Foregoing To:-1) Raise Sufficient Funds From, Interalia, The City Council Of Bristol, English Heritage And Other Sources For The Purpose Of The Underfall Yard Restoration Project. 2) Obtain A Long Term Lease Of The Underfall Yard From The City Of Bristol. 3)to Procure That The City Council Of Bristol Will Take Whatever Action Is Necessary To Ensure That The Underfall Yard Will Be Used As An Historic Working Boatyard And A Museum For A Period Of At Least 20 Years Provided That All Objects Of The Trust Shall Be Of A Charitable Nature.
