St Stephen in Brannel Community Centre Trustees’ Annual Report – 2025

Chairman’s Report

As a whole the performance of the management team has been exemplary.

The treasurer and secretary have worked together to ensure a high standard of financial and clerical control. Meetings have been regular and highly supported by the management team.

During these meetings all aspects of the Community Centre and Social Club are discussed.

The overall maintenance of the establishment has been improved with new fire doors being planned for the near future. Windows have been replaced and the front of the club decorated. Decoration has been carried out inside, with new floors and furniture upholstered in the social club. The bar equipment has been updated. Plans to resurface the sprung floor in the Community Centre will be carried out in the future. The lighting has been changed to LED and overhead fireproof drapes are in the process of being replaced.

With having newer facilities, it became obvious that our cleaning staff were not up to the standard expected by the establishment. Steps were taken to improve their service but eventually they had to be replaced. This is now better for all concerned.

A reoccurring area of concern is the damage to the hygiene facilities. The female toilets are a constant financial battle replacing damaged toilets and other furniture connected with such areas.

Events have been strongly supported bringing in well anticipated and needed funds for running costs. Highly knowledgeable members work on getting the right acts at the right time of year at the events.

I must give great thanks to the members on the management team who have given their time and effort into the work to keep the establishment running as a whole. They have worked as a supportive and strong team
