Secretary's Report for Charities Commission 2024
On the 5th March 1923 , a total of 21 men assembled at Haydock Conservative Club , and Haydock Male Voice Choir was born.
This year we celebrated our 100 year , with two Celebration concerts. The first in March with our friends , the Chanterelles Ladies choir in the Town Hall in St Helens. A truly remarkable evening of song .
Our main concert of Celebration was in September, again at the Town Hall , when three of our previous Musical Directors, Greg Warren , Paul Mather and Gary Hill once again leading the choir, singing their favourite songs . Our present Musical Director Dan Craddock , then led the choir singing songs from our present repertoire. A wonderful evening of song to celebrate our Centenary. Both concerts were streamed live , another indication of how Haydock are using social media to promote the choir.
Throughout the year we have used every occasion to promote the health benefits of singing, and like all choirs , recruitment of new members remains a priority. Sadly, over the last few years our numbers have reduced and new members are paramount , if we are to continue.
Looking forward we continue to sing modern Male Voice Choir arrangements, performing local concerts which help raise much needed funds for local and National Charities .

I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5){b) of the Act.
