Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held in All Saints’ Church on 9[th] May 2023

Present

John Carrick (Chairman), Steve Derrick, Steve and Barbara Hyde, Gerry and Daphne Palmer, Tracey Hall. Bernie and Gill Wyatt, Helene Maine, Bernie Marsham and James Keith.

1. Apologies

Apologies were received from Ben Hughes and Judy Stone

2. Minutes of the last meet

Minutes of the previous AGM on 10th May 2022 were distributed and agreed as a fair record of that meeting.

3. Matters arising

No matters were raised

4. Reports from officers

The Chairman thanked the visiting speaker Matthew Champion and summarised the past years fund raising activities and progress in selling the Gooseberry Hill Plot.

The Treasurer advised that funds in the bank totalled £36,000 and the annual report to the Charity Commission had been completed on time. The financial report was adopted.

Steve Hyde as fabrics officer to the PCC advised that the leak to the church roof is likely to need £60,000 and re-leading the windows will probably need £200,000. Other work detailed in the last Quinquennial Review also needs to be considered.

5. Election of officers

John Carrick as chairman, Steve Derrick as secretary and Helene Maine as treasurer have all agreed to stand again. There being no other candidates the committee were re-elected.

6. Election of committee

The Chairman proposed that all existing members of the committee be re-elected ‘en bloc’. They are:John Carrick, Steve Derrick, Helene Maine, Ben Hughes, Steve & Barbara Hyde, Bernie Marsham, Gerry and Daphne Palmer, Bernie & Gillian Wyatt and Tracey Hall. Proposed by Bernie Marsham and seconded by Jerry Palmer. Agreed.

8. Future events

The committee are considering targeting about five events during the next year to include a summer event and the fireworks. Closer contact with members and the parish is to be maintained via newsletters and emails.
