activities, projects or age oftwoand five years. The pre-school
services identified in the accommodates 20 children in the morning
accounts. and 20 children in the afternoon.
We now have 7 members of staff.
Six are Level 3 qualified and one is Level 5.
One member ofour staff is Makaton trained
and is our lead on this.
The children get lots of adult interaction
Asa staffteamwe have continued with our
professional development, concentrating on
Safeguarding and SEN training.
We had one dedicated Senco at Busy Bees
but mindful ofhow busywe are another
member of staffcompleted an EarlyYears
Senco course in the summer term and now
we have two Sencos.
A memberof stafftook part in the Early
Years Professional Development Program
during theAutumn term and into the Spring
Term.Thisfetchedawealthofknowledge
back to the setting which we were able to
put into practice and share with parents.
Two staffmembers also undertook a
course on Oral Health.
After thiswe
decided totake up the Supervised Tooth
Brushing Program in our setting which has
proved very beneficial in raising awareness
in looking after teeth.
All staff have renewed their safeguarding
certificates and our DSL lead has attended
numerouscoursesandforumsthroughout
Certificate renewed in May 2024 and DBS
are always up-to-date.
Once again this yearweworked with Selby
College to support a student on placement.
Wewelcome all children within the age
range regardless of personal
circumstances, gender, faith, cultural
background and lingual ability.
We also work closely with schools in our
local area on transitions, in particularthose
children within our setting with SEN.

various visitors to do sessions with our
children including aYoga session, musical
sessions and football sessions. Busy Bees
usedEYPPmoniestohelpwithcosts.

Achievements and Performance

We also visited Fernbank Courtwith Busy
Bees Choir at the end ofevery term. The
elderly residents look forward to our visits
We have also taken groups ofchildren out
totake donations to Selby Food Bank, Visit
SelbyAbbeyand Litter Picking around our
local area encouraging children to value
the environment.
Fundraising has still been challenging this
year. The local community have been
supportive in donating prizes for our raffles.
We held several events for parents to
attend.
We had an Harvest Festival, where our
parents donated food for Selby Food Bank.
Thiswas hosted by the Methodist Church.
We also invited parents in fora Christingle
Service.
The children also performed a Christmas
Nativity for parents.
We hosted an Easter Egg Roll for parents
to attend and a Leavers Ceremony/End of
Year Party.
All were well attended and supported by
parents.
Stay and play sessions have continued and
are well attended.
in Novemberwe hada lovely turn out at
ourAGM with new parents wishing to get
involved in pre-school life.
Our baby and toddler groupis
still popular.
This is still held on aTuesday morning at
BraytonCommunityCentre.

Financial Review

Review ofthe charity’s Para 1.21 Busy bees accounts again remain in a healthy
financial position atthe end
ofthe period
position.We have spent all fundraising monies
well buying newequipment forthe setting and
resources for the children.
Wages have increased above the living wage,
this has been absorbed well with session prices
remaining competitive against other settings.
Numbers remain healthy with the setting to be
once again full for another yearwith a growing
waiting list for Sep 2025.
