REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2022
The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2022
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The charity's objects are to raise funds and make grants to Long Lane Primary School to enhance the education facilities for the school pupils and to organise events for the benefit of those pupils.
TRUSTEES
The trustees who held office during the year and up to the date of signature of the financial statements were as follows
Mrs C Luna (Secretary) Mrs L Maskell (Chair) Mrs J Scott (Treasurer) Mrs E Crowson (appointed 7[th] October 2022)
Trustees are appointed for their individual knowledge, experience and skills that are considered essential to ensure the charity’s effective administration and its continued sustainability, growth and development. Trustees are appointed by the Board of Trustees in a properly convened meeting. The trustees have read and integrated the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
In the year Covid-19 restrictions were lifted and we set out to have a year of fun for all the children and in the process hopefully raise some money for the school. The charity held a variety of old and new events and raised a total of £11,465 and in doing so the children had lots of fun participating along with their family and friends. The charity raised £14,485 from other sources, including £11,788 charity matching income from parents’ employers.
The charity issued grants to Long Lane Primary School of £19,257, the largest of which was for a landscaping project for the outside play area (£10,716).
FINANCIAL REVIEW
During the year the charity made a surplus of £4,947, and its net assets at the year end were £24,848
FUTURE PLANS
The charity is looking to build on the success of this financial year and increase fundraising activities as a result of the Covid-19 restrictions being fully lifted. We are committed to contributions to the school, such as for school trips, general costs and a gardening project.
