’ - Treasurer s Report Year 2020 2021
This report covers the period 6[th] April 2020 to 5[th] April 2021 and should be read in conjunction with the year-end account summary attached.
We made a profit of £34,723.45 in the year, compared to a loss of £937.12 in the previous year. Because of Covid fund raising was extremely restricted and was over £2,000 below last year. I am however pleased to report that we received donations of just over £40,000 which are detailed below.
Income
Total donations were £40,063 compared to £2,596 in previous year. We received £19,000 legacy from the late Mr Brian Smith, £10,180 from Aylesbury Vale Golf club& £4,252 from the Co-op. Other major donors include The Mayor’s fund £2,000 and donations from M & S of £1,001 and Gill Middleton £1,270.
We received the normal grant of £3,000 from Mount Vernon through the HHV Alliance but our only fundraising activity was the Christmas Market where we collected £114.
Costs
Of our total expenditure of £8,676 salary costs of £7,590 for our two excellent staf account for the major part. As our volunteers were unable to work travel and fundraising costs were negligible compared to last year.
Financial Position
Because of the above we finished the year in a much stronger financial position than last year with net assets of £73,259 compared with £38,536 at the start of the year.
We continue to be registered with the Charities Commission. Finally I would like to thank Ken Wilson, our Independent Examiner, for his hard work in verifying our Financial Accounts in such a timely fashion.
