Trustees annual re
rt 31" March 2021
It has been another challengin9 year for the Nlursery Ll Pre-school groups with the outbreak
of COVTD19 in March 2020. We or¢ very pleased to say that we have remained open during
this challenging time. we no cases of coronavirus in the setting, although we have had parents
who have contacted this in their workplaces and I child who contacted coronavirus f rom their
parent.
We have updated our detailed risk assessment and policies ond have been able to do outdoor
induction sessions for new starters. Our numbers have increased since September 2020 when
many children didn't return to Nursery due to coronttvirus, some returned September 2020 to
December 2020 then stayed at home f rom January 21 to March 21.
We currently have 20 children on our books, 3 of whom will start school reception in
September 21, and I who is movin9 to a new Nursery. We are deli9hted that we will start the
year September 21 with 16 children, 13 in our Nursery group and 3 younger chi Idren who will
be in our Pre-school group.
Our chairman has purchased new and replacement equipment this year and f rom May 2021 to
July 2021 has paid for the childrens smcks. We have really appreciated donotions f rom M &
S of f ruit and vegetables for the children twice weekly.
We have mode more progress in becoming Eco f riendly, which has come at a cost when replacing
equipment and resources with eco friendly resources/equipment.
The chi Idren have been tau9ht about caring for our planet. We will continue to develop this
area. We have introduced fortnightly litter picking into our CLsrriculum where children use child
size litter pickers ond help to clean up the local area. This has been very popular with children
and parents. We have taken the children on re9ular walks around the local area and to 2 local
woods where the children have been taught about core for. and changes to our local
environment.
We tontinue to f undraise for ourselves and other ¢harities such as Macmi Ilan Cancer Support
and Children in Need, 8arnardo's etc.
We are still covering a whole range of festivals and celebrations in our planning and involving
parents/carers fully in all our themes. We were pleased to be able to or9anise our f irst trip
for porents and children sinte the start of the pandemic, we travelled by car to the
Birmingham Nature centre, this wos such a lovely day and greot to see parents involved in our
outings (k9ain.
Our Ofsted inspection has been delayed due to coronavirus, we ore expecting a visit very
shortly, our staf f are all attending weekly webinars on the revised EYFS which comes in to
force in September 21. We are busy havin9 regular meetings and updating paperwork for
September 21. Parents have olso been informed about the new EYFS and how it will af fect
their thild. We are pleased thdt the new EYFS will mean less paperwork for staff medning
they can spend more quality time with their key person.

istered charit No. 1040732
Examination of accounts for lower income charities
Report to the members and trustees of Jellybabies Nursery & Pre-school on the accounts
for the year endin9 31° March 2021.
The charities trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charities
trustees consider that an audit is not required for this in line with the charities Act of 2011
and that the accounts should be examined by an independent examiner, who is an independent
person who is reasonably believed by the trustees to have the requisite ability and practical
experience to carry out a competent examination of the accounts.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the charity
commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity-
It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do
not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is
given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair. view and the report is limited to
those matters set out in the statement above.
In connection with my ex¢Jmination no matter has come to my attention
